Long term defo. Should peace ever materialise, there would undoubtedly be a short term drop (imo). An overreaction to this (as is often the case) would no doubt be welcome for those looking for an entry point. |
I agree RW. Defence companies are in a very strong position and will continue to be so for a considerable time. Suet |
The scare that the Ukraine invasion has generated will ripple around Governments and benefit the big boy defence companies for the next 10 years or so. Just replenishing used ammunitions will continue for 2 or 3 years even after peace breaks out. Then the search for brighter/smarter/cheeper ways of destroying stuff will start. |
They may start to happen come post US elections (but don't bet on it as it looks like the US will continue to vote for more war). Ideally, BAE will power to new highs over the coming few weeks, so one can top slice another chunk. |
Thankyou! The problem with this one is that eventually the Ukraine war will end and it will be down 10-20% when that starts seeming imminent. |
Director sell of £35k today , FWIW. Hard to keep an eye on director deals with so many directors , and lots of piffling award trades mixed up with some tax related trades. |

Earlier this year, during a visit to BAE Systems’ shipyard in Glasgow, Sir Simon Lister, Managing Director of the company’s Naval Ships division, provided insights to journalists on the engineering efforts behind ensuring that the Type 26 operates with a minimal acoustic signature.
Silence in naval warfare is both a technical challenge and a tactical advantage. Lister described how even the flow of fluid through pipes can impact the ship’s stealth capabilities. By isolating pipes with rubber and designing brackets to reduce noise transmission, the ship becomes less detectable by enemy submarines, ensuring its sonar systems remain unobstructed. |

"EU Defense Bubble Under Pressure After Germany Freezes New Military Aid For Ukraine"
Frozen ie Stopped.
European defense stocks fell Monday morning following a report from the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) over the weekend. The new report revealed that Berlin had halted all new requests for military aid to Ukraine, citing a domestic budgetary crisis. |
HL "On the downside, defence firm BAE Systems slumped following reports that Germany plans to cut military aid to Ukraine. Rolls-Royce also lost ground"
Cutting by how much one wonders. So not stopping, as of yet it seems. |
Germany apparently stopping the sale of weapons to Ukraine. |
