Agree entirely and I'll be voting against it. My flab is gasted that the board is recommending it. Talk about a disconnect with shareholders. Smells like a French fishing fleet.

My point was if the press article is right and the UK try and block the Gangfeng bid then the price will dump short term, that won't phase me and I'll buy a bucket load more as the long term picture for BCN is still a very positive one even if bid falls through (which I dont think it will)

Cadence have a 30% interest in Mexalit which is the JV with BCN. It's a long way off being a producing licence though

They don’t have 30% in BCN… they own some of the mining licences I believe, I don’t have a proper research on KDNC, but they definitely don’t own 30% of BCN…

I don’t think it will, this article has been released on Thursday so it had 0 impact on share price last Friday, also Sonora is in Mexico and offtake signed to go to Asia, therefore is has almost zero to do with the UK…

Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. The only investors who truly supported BCN were those investing in the primary issue of nee shares. The shares on the secondary market come entirely from them who have sold presumably more, or less, content with their return (or escape). Those buying in the secondary market have no role in supporting the company, merely taking a calculated bet that they can sell their shares on higher. A guaranteed price of 67.5p now may not be the 2-500p dome we're hoping for, but they are totally de-risked and have an opportunity value to invest elsewhere. Gang EMh owes you nothing.

Thanks John. Whether they can realistically intervene or not is to be seen but it certainly puts the cat amongst the pigeons.

And far from dropping like a brick I would think it will highlight the value and therefore potential for a more realistic offer. Good spot.

Doubt the Gov will do anything.
a) The asset is not in the UK the days of the Empire are over.If the asset was in the UK not Mexico then I think the chance of blocking would be real.
b) There is more Lithium in the world to discover its hardly in the same league as vaccine and PPE at the height of the Covid out break.
c) The Government will not be keen to be disrupting the markets without one hell of a good reason as this could have an impact on London as a Financial Centre.
d) If they really do feel its ultra important a more sensible route would be to talk to the US and Mexicans and get a friendly third party to bid.May be Carlos Slims or JP Morgan might be interested.
