It’s the quality of the sales that matter, strong barriers to entry in their markets, the statement suggested no deterioration on previous forecasts apart from slight movement on margin to the downside since last statement. Otherwise all ok!

Some info from this morning, make of it what you will:

Avon expects to report revenue of $250m for FY21, after providing guidance of a $245m-$260m range in its Aug. 13 trading update.

Will recognize one-time, non-cash, ballistic protection inventory adjustments, which are expected to reduce the reported adjusted Ebitda margin for FY21 to between 15% and 16%

Has carried “a strong closing order book” of $141m into the new financial year, up 39% on Sept. 30 2020

Continued to see “good commercial momentum” in 2H of FY21, with order intake for the year of about $280m

Cash conversion has come through more strongly than anticipated at the time of the August trading update and expects FY21 reported cash conversion of ~80%

Avon Protection problems are short-termAvon Protection (AVON) has put out two profit warnings this year but BlackRock Smaller Companies (BRSC) manager Roland Arnold believes the issues are short-term.The manager of the £1bn investment trust said the maker of respiratory equipment for the army and fire brigade, formerly known as Avon Rubber, had warned about delayed orders due to 'a combination of Covid-19 and supply chain disruptions'.In August, the company saw more than a quarter of its market value wiped out after announcing supply chain problems and staff shortages had worsened, leading it to issue a revenue warning for the current year.'Disappointingly, [the August warning was] the second warning this year. However, our view is that this is a short-term issue and ultimately these contracts will come through,' said Arnold. Shares in Avon have remained depressed in September and closed down 0.2% or 3p, at £19.79 on Tuesday.

Sarcasm I suppose. On the daily on 13th sept there was a MACD cross over, RSI bounced off about 20 and there was an end of day engulfing candle so decided to buy in at just over £17. Good business hit by some logistics issues that I believe are temporary, time will tell.
