05/4/2006 15:56 | Wobble...fact remains that they are STILL good value. | holdontightuk

05/4/2006 15:52 | Bu does one jump in now or wait for a dip? sods law each way I think!!!!!!!!!! | wobblechops
05/4/2006 15:26 | This is a quite amazing performance from AVM. Looks like we are firmly on the radar for gold investors at last. To put today's move into context and to indicate that this is not just an isolated performance I note that YAU is currently up 9.2% (on Toronto action only) and RRS is up 3.2%. Hambro is up 3.9%. AVM now clearly offers an instrument for gold investors on the LSE as there have been few decent alternatives in the past. Chip | chipperfrd
05/4/2006 15:11 | oh yes, and still time to catch this train, another peter hambro!!!!!!!!! | wobblechops
05/4/2006 15:10 | Tht'll be £5 a share then, which I agree would be fairer value. Looks like the city agrees. | holdontightuk
05/4/2006 14:25 | This re-rating could have a long way to go yet. POG (Peter Hambro) - production of c.250,000 oz p.a. = £1bn market cap. AVM (Avocet) - production of c.200,000 oz p.a. = £200m market cap. OK that's ignoring costs, reserves, hedging and so on but still ... I think £500m would be reasonable (500p). It's just a matter of getting the City to love you, which has always been one of Mr Hambro's advantages. | mattybuoy
05/4/2006 14:17 | been in this since end of 2002/begin of 2003...avg price 32.97. Had to sell some along the way for cash - which bugs me a little now - but I needed to at the time. Still I can't complain. Much more to come hopefully. Congrats to everyone on breaking the 200 barrier! | zaky
05/4/2006 14:13 | sorry, 10000 | holdontightuk
05/4/2006 14:13 | 1000, at ca ave pp of 19p. | holdontightuk
05/4/2006 14:12 | O/T HoT - thanks for that; just for interest what qty and price ? | giant steps
05/4/2006 14:12 | Blasted through 200p with such confidence i feel it might have a lot more left in it yet. Would have expected 200p to offer more resistance or even trigger a slight pullback. I guess every move gold makes north at the moment AVM is doubling. | bestbuddy
05/4/2006 14:06 | Holding the rest - sold some purely to get the losses in this TY. | holdontightuk
05/4/2006 13:41 | Well there's a milestone, AVM just gone 200p bid ~ well done all holders ! O/T HoT - you got any more TMG to go ? | giant steps
05/4/2006 13:02 | It would be very positive imo if we were to enter the new tax year above 200p. | holdontightuk
05/4/2006 10:57 | I don't have any knowledge, I just happen to be an amateurish investor with above 100000 shares in this one.. In investing you must have your own ideas. If not you'll sell in the weak periods that inevitably come along. | kojak78
05/4/2006 10:27 | Please note Kojak I am not questioning your knowledge . i am just pleased to see rise.I am in this one for long term anyway. As you said you can miss 30% rise in a day. please keep us informed | tom4mac
05/4/2006 10:21 | Yesterday was flat but I guess it's ok to count that as up, too. So assuming up today (intraday reversal could be in the cards..) we have a 9 day up period. That has chance of 1:2^9 = 1:512, i.e. one of 512 9 day periods should have only up-days. 512*9/250 trading days a year means every 18 years or so.. just another hint that ideas like the random walk are plain false and why technical indicators fail. Yes, correct 99.9% of the time. But for the 0.1% of all times where technicians are wrong they lose so much money that all advantages just disappear. I'll put my money on the only viable thing in the long-term: regression to the mean, i.e. prices will reach value at some point in the future. The correction will come nonetheless. | kojak78
05/4/2006 10:09 | another rise today what went wrong yesterday? | tom4mac
05/4/2006 10:03 | Personaly, i forsee good thing to come from Avocet.. Was going to buy at 1.38 had two days off, and they jumped to 1.60.. :( so bought at 1.67.. so still in profit.. but won't be selling yet..:) | james bushell
05/4/2006 08:06 | Bit more info on the Dynasty programme: Hatu Project, Xinjiang Province Dynasty's 1000 km2 Hatu property hosts an Inferred gold resource of 912,600 oz gold at the Qi-2 deposit (NI 43-101 compliant: 16.9 million tonnes at an average 1.68 g/t gold with a 1.0 g/t cutoff. See Dynasty News Release June 6, 2005.) The 2006 exploration program will focus on upgrading this resource to the Measured and Indicated category by completing approximately 8000 m of infill drilling using reverse circulation drill equipment from an international contractor. A further 2000 m of diamond drilling will be completed by a local drill company. The diamond drilling will include holes for metallurgical testing and additional holes targeting new mineralization at Qi-2 as well as elsewhere on the property. The exploration budget for Hatu in 2006 is approximately US$1.8 million and funding will be provided through Avocet Mining's Joint-Venture earn-in expenditures. (See Dynasty News Release March 2, 2006.) Diamond drilling will commence by late April, with the infill program to follow later in May. Avocet will offer technical expertise throughout the program, as well as provide access to other services where applicable. | taylor20
04/4/2006 23:51 | For a stock that has performed so well recently I am surprised how few posters there are on this board. Wait till it really moves then we will see a post every two minutes. I think that todays Gold action indicates we are about to break out on the upside fairly quickly. If we get to 600 in short order, AVM should spring through 200p and get quickly back to test the old high. My speculation. | kickstart
04/4/2006 15:12 | Gold price looking good to send AVM to new highs before close! | bestbuddy
04/4/2006 14:57 | Credit where credit due, Mr James was a passionate advocate of AVM in the early days. | holdontightuk |
