30/3/2006 20:20 | I think this will break £2 tomorrow or the day after. The action in US is contrived.....too many didnt see this run and want in....hence gold up and (many) gold stocks down. I think the UK might be ahead of the curve this time, as action started in UK open hours not US open hours. Just surmising..,.....but £2+ is most definitely on the cards tomorrow, imo. | holdontightuk

30/3/2006 19:40 | This is the bit I like: "Treasury employees were specifically ORDERED not to talk about this to anyone because it could cause economic collapse." Excellent, I can see it now, Treasury Secretary quietly whispers in the ear of each employee, shhhhh (finger on mouth) don't tell anyone or our economy will collapse! PMSL It'll happen soon enough anywau but the US govt has an interest in prolonging the day of reckoning for as long as possible, it's ludicrous to suggest they would hasten it in this way. And anyway, the printing presses at FED HQ have alledgedly been running 24/7 for ages now. There's no doubt M3 was going to cause the US to embarrass itself fairly soon and that was reason enough to stop publishing it. | goml

30/3/2006 17:37 | Ohojim, make that two as they tipped Gfm last week I think it was and look at that, must be getting the knack now, only taken about 40 years or so. | cinoib
30/3/2006 16:46 | looks like they could be getting ready for a shock to the financial markets , iran or something else who knows then flood the markets with liquidity , gold up about $40 from last week . just follow the clever money | budevenwiser
30/3/2006 16:42 | maybe a little more to about the £2 mark, just to gain support b4 the proper move north. But the timing of announcements, if any, could have a big effect on this scenario. I surely believe this will go much higher than all-time high, in due course, and that will be entering a new realm. gold surely looking strong adding further value to AVM. | brad1
30/3/2006 16:33 | GOOD ONE POMP! Why do you think it needs to pull-back? I dont agree, except by maybe 10%. | holdontightuk

30/3/2006 16:15 | Well they have got a war to fund which eats up a few billion, then theres the war on terror - another few billion, then there is Iran and nuclear weapons - few billion will be spet there on intelligence and covert operations, then they could use the money to buy other currencies to make there businesses more competitive on exports and reduce the flow of imported goods. Think about it, since when has spending money been a problem for governments. | bestbuddy |
