AVM'S 'strength' is that it is seemingly impervious to movements in the gold price. Let's see if that applies today.Tajikastan has taken over from the hedging as the weak point. Let's hope there isn't another problem down the road and another and another and.............

I believe the BOE doesn't own a single ounce of gold that is not leased out.

The 400 tonne sale at $276 failed to put a lid on it but even more interestingly the pumping of the dollar has failed also as both gold and the dollar have risen together. It looks as though the members of the LMBA who leased the gold from the BOE are unable to replace it although I have little doubt that Gordon Brown will continue to throw taxpayers money at the toxic position. Quite simply a public default by a toxic bullion bank would cause chaos and drive cash gold into orbit.

It's hardly surprising that the Rothschilds whispered "we're out of here" after a few hundred years. A very shrewd move indeed.

The UK investing public are herded with bovine passivity by the media, either that breaks or the media gets on the side of gold, that's what we await.

As you won't enter into a real discussion with me or answer any of my questions , I'm going back to the other thread where you can't post. You had your chance.

Remember Ash the other year when I pointed out the double top that AVM formed and predicted the slide back to around 55p ?

Well it's happening again and with oil now falling I think Gold must have topped out

Nope, not completely non sensical moves like this, I assume EVO have add orders on Institutional Weightings of reak US$500 Au and are trying to shake lose holders out to fill them.

105p at US$455 gold price at 1.86 exchange rate. Currency adjusted the old high was not 105p but 114p. The exchange rate adjusted relative high against the XAU is even north of 146p.

chip,

You could be right, though delivering into it at 4k oz pm leaves 80% of AVM's gold output to be sold at spot. The other two negatives would seem to be, first, non-existent stock promotion and, second, turning round the Tajik operations. This last , IMHO, is the real sticker and perhaps investors are waiting to see tangible evidence of recovery here before committing funds/adding.

I reckon that damned hedge is still holding the share price back. Until it is fully gone the share price cannot be fully responsive to the pog.

Some might say its only holding up because of the strength in the gold price, but I bxxxxy well hope not.

With Gold knocking on US$500 I really feel the share price here should be well over 100p by now

AVM was priced at 105p with a gold price not exceeding US$460 last year

As a relative newcomer to AVM I would appreciate views on the largest shareholder, Elliott Associates; are they a positive, negative, or neutral factor re small private investors? Do we know if they are in for the long term or will they be drip feeding sales into the market?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Gold will be pushing the $500 mark today.
Can AVM remain below previous highs on much lower gold prices and recent news?
I doubt it.
Tempted to add at these prices but may wait just in case it drops back under £1.
Or if price holds i will add once gold breaks $500.
Any thoughts anyone.
