16/10/2005 17:43 | HOT, Err October 2002 to January 2003 12p to 43.50p, October 2003 to January 2004 43.50p to 83.50p, October 2004 to January 2005 80p to 105p. It is Indian and Chinese Wedding Season and LSE:AVM are based in Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Tajikistan). I do not think it is called Ramping it is a straight forwards statement of fact! Cheers Ash:) PS I do not "Ramp" I only ever post Bull Bear as I see the situation from a TA, Fundamentals, Intrinsic Value, Macro Economic and Investor Sentiment basis, irrespective of wheher or not I have underlying positions in the share! | mr ashley james

14/10/2005 16:20 | as expected sell off in gold even following roaring inflation , but the made up core numbers coming in less than expected , surprised they managed a 0.1% increase as the index is about 1/3 represented with second hand autos which have bombed in price since car makers have been giving new ones away , hope gold drops further cause i bought more phisical last week and want some more | budevenwiser

14/10/2005 10:30 | kojak - granted that every investor must make their own descisions. If somebody wishes to say they have sold out so be it. But I think you will find that your interesting and informative posts are of use to many investors who may not have such a deep understanding of such technical issues - on this basis if you sell it may be enough for others to take your lead and do likewise. Please keep the informative posts coming - I appreciate the efforts you put in, but best we all stay fair and do no try to mislead. I think the fairness of posters on here keeps the AVM board a friendly arena for discussion. | dixi
14/10/2005 10:25 | The more I read in this bb the more I come to the conclusion that it's us, the shareholders, who drag on AVM's share price. I mean, everybody has bought so who is left to buy. I think AVM needs more international investors. Currently it's a UK only investment. | kojak78
14/10/2005 10:09 | Well it sounds that ZER still lags behind schedule. Until it is nailed down in fact then AVM will not fly | phillis
14/10/2005 09:58 | Admitted, that was wrong. Therefore my excuse. Of course it was totally inacceptable. Perhaps I am allowed to make one small observation after all my wrongdoing. This shows just how much share price oriented many folks here are. Just because someone else is selling shares can't be the main reason to sell. Consider the fundamental facts (i.e. something wrong behind the scenes like some minor things like ZGC stripping behind schedule as we now know, or favorable general fundamentals), but never ever sell because somebody else is selling. | kojak78
14/10/2005 09:39 | Kojak - I do believe you stated that 14,000 shares sold and 82,000 or so to go? | dixi
14/10/2005 09:16 | Where did I post false information? Of course you can't manipulate shares price by posting on internet bbs, one shouldn't overestimate influence.. we're still lower than yesterday this time before I posted anything. And then I tell you, my arguments are absolutely valid, they just take into account the bearish view. The argument for double tops in AVM share price and XAU is a valid one. Gold stocks are once again falling behind the gold price, a bearish sign. I for myself just doesn't care anymore, if AVM falls back below 69 it doesn't matter for me, the only important thing is to bridge the time until AVM pays a dividend or buys back shares. | kojak78
14/10/2005 09:04 | Kojak78 If you think that you can manipulate the share price by posting false information on a BB you are deluding yourself. I agree that you should be ashamed of yourself for trying to do such a thing. Your last attempt to justify your actions was pathetic. | retford1
14/10/2005 08:58 | Weak holders out of AVMm, who would have sold sooner or later anyway, far more damaging the share-price. BTW, I didn't buy shares yesterday. | kojak78
14/10/2005 08:36 | kojak, Well I am disgusted by your post, ie "but the opportunity was just about perfect for scaring weak holders out of AVM". You should be ashamed of yourself. Market is bad enough without that sort of dog-eat-dog attitude. We see the worst of human nature on these bb's and clearly this one is not immune. | chipperfrd
14/10/2005 08:28 | Thanks bud. | bionicdog
14/10/2005 08:20 | right as everyone was so nervous and bearish yesterday i had a chat with j henry as best we could as avm are now in closed period NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER is what he told me regarding the doubling of fuel by the indonesian government the cost of fuel per ounce as a percentage before the rise was around $8 so that puts on $8 costs per ounce making it $16 now the good part is costs are well below $200 even after the rise so that tells me that they are doing even more than the 5000 ounces produced in august when costs where around $200 and not well below zeravshan they are around 4 to 6 weeks behind schedule with the stripping but nearly there but they have reached the higher grade ore in places and are now mining it , he reckons six weeks for gold poured from being mined so we are looking at end of november for a ramp up in production penjom looks after itself | budevenwiser
14/10/2005 08:11 | Well, I have to excuse for spreading so much gloom, but the opportunity was just about perfect for scaring weak holders out of AVM. Good to see that so many folks here seem to be strong holders. On the negative side I think general sentiment in this forum is still somewhat too positive considering yesterdays large drop. Could be a contrarian warning signal, could be because the forum doesn't reflect general sentiment for AVM. Don't be too sure, that there won't be a further fall. Anything is possible in the markets. I for myself concluded to hold AVM regardless what happens a long time ago. And so I didn't sell one single share. Perhaps yesterdays fall was caused by the EGM announcement. That would really be shocking as AVM told us why a capital reduction is necessary long before. I don't expect a dividend, though. The accumulated loss is 47 mio and the reduction of 20p for 105 mio shares would yield ca. US$36 mio, so we still need US$11 mio. At least earning for financial 2006 will be sufficient to pay a small dividend, so if there is a 2006 dividend it is going to be 1 or 2 mio IMHO. 2007 could be a different story. At a 50% dividend to retained earnings ratio AVM could pay out up to 15 mio. Perhaps AVM will have to finance Taror/Chore first so that the dividend will be delayed one more year. One more thing, I think the most important sentence of the EGM announcement: "Similarly, such profits could be applied to purchase shares of the Company to be held in treasury or cancelled" | kojak78
14/10/2005 07:54 | it would'nt surprise me if there was a selloff in gold after the figures come out buy the rumour sell the fact n all that everyman and his dog is expecting bad numbers what if they are'nt as bad as everyone is expecting even tho we all know they are made up numbers and the market usually does the opposite of what everyone expects knowing me tho i'll proobably be wrong | budevenwiser
14/10/2005 07:13 | Notice of EGM | blueyonder
14/10/2005 03:02 | Up late, Kickstart? | holdontight
14/10/2005 02:30 | I think the fall in the gold price has almost ended. In fact if the numbers are bad today re the CPI we could see strong move up in spot Gold. | kickstart
13/10/2005 20:39 | Well I'm still lurking. I have to assume that Kojak, who seems to have become something of a guru on here, was joking when he suggested the gold bull might be over. No change in the fundamentals driving it, if anything todays August US trade gap confirms business as usual, with Septembers likely to be THE worst on record. CPI out tomorrow also with consensus of 0.9, stop and think for a minute, if that was repeated for 12 months its double digit inflation based on a number which is highly minipulated to the downside anyway. Nothing changes for the yanks until the dollar falls and we know what that means for gold. It's not about if, it's about when. As for AVM's fall today, I canNOT believe the gloom on here. The entire mining sector got shafted, who knows, may be the MM's were still short from the rise and have stock to buy in at these levels. | goml |
