Think you are being overly kind spud. He spends his life on these boards and reading and misinterpreting articles on the internet. And refers to himself in the third person. Classic signs of someone with Zero real life skills.

He's posted that much negativity, he's been constantly moderated & is on his third alias. A sad pessimistic & friendless creature without 2 half pennies to rub together...spud

I remember now --- spot on call -- if you know what a bollinger is

EMA25 going lower now

Bottom Bollinger Band getting hit ... should IMO soon bend

ASF to hit both the USA and UK by xmas 2019 IMO won't help the financials

Bought a very small amount.
Watched the CEO's opening presentation, he certainly doesn't lack self-belief.
There's an air of a 1960's US politician about him.
Not totally convinced, but let's see.

Might watch the conference call webcast, hopefully shed more light
on the strategy here, as atm I'm none the wiser - except lots of talk about simplifications and releasing potential etc.
We've heard this so many times through the years and yet still it goes on.

Posting a 20 year chart to predict short term movements show how little Buywell knows about anything.

Most of my cash is in ISAs so I don’t have the capability for options. Currently my only holdings are in trusts and a few small individual shares. I’ll get back in here at some point though.

DrB - why don't you consider writing a put? You might choose a lower strike, gives you an immediate yield and, as you have said, not unhappy to pick up the shares if assigned. Just an idea.

Similar position, can't help with the timing, although thinking
along similar lines.

Yield here now 8.2%. I’m currently sitting on an uncomfortably large pile of cash wondering when to re-enter. Possibly a week before brexit?

Selling Asian assets may not be quite so easy atm.

Fair point re bond yields weighing on AV.

They are taking the easy option of selling Asian assets as that is the future growth market and would be seen as such by potential buyers. Would have been wiser to sell western assets and keep Asian .

The companies like Aviva and RSA are going to struggle while many interest rates continue to be negative and highly likely to go further into negative territory.
