fool.co.uk supposed 'Peer Group' have very little in common - so in no way can they be considered as such.
As for using an average...tosh!!

Where as Av is yielding just shy of 7% with a similar upside.

I'd rather hold Aviva

Direct Line down 12% as expected.
It is yielding just over 2% with possible upside of say 20% if it's bought out.

Doesn't seem like a steal to me .

This gave me a good laugh this morning. I suppose we should be grateful that the FCA are not responsible for issuing pilot licenses.

The Financial Conduct Authority hired a chief internal auditor who does not have audit qualifications after advertising the role for only five working days, leading to claims that the recruitment process had been rigged in favour of an internal candidate. The appointment of Robin Jones, who has spent more than two decades working at the City regulator, has been greeted with surprise and anger in the internal audit profession. – The Times

Phoenix are paying a bonkers dividend, will put that on the watch list. Stock performance seems poor however.

Yeah I face some pain come Monday in DLG but take comfort from my AV, LGEN, MNG and PHNX holdings. DLG much smaller too but it would have been nice if that had been taken out to free up a bit more for here.

Good luck all 👍🏻

I guess if you're in it for the long haul and the income, day to day price machinations shouldn't really matter. spud

Ageas will not make bid for Direct line…

I expect substantial drop in Directs share price Monday, will it affect other insurers?

Over 100p away from that buyout rumour price.

Going back some years the comparison was always AV vs PRU - lots of complaints at how badly AV had done in comparison. Guess over the more recent history perhaps things look a bit more in AVs favour.

The 2.1% pru dividend is pitiful for this sector and is what's holding it back imo.Now I wonder where that missing dividend money is being funnelled in the main......spud

Good day at Phoenix, looks like the sector is in rude health, aside Pru.
