oh,oh...

I see the possibility of this thread going the wrong way rapidly.

let's sincerely hope that doesn't happen for all concerned.

a negative/nasty thread can significantly harm the vibe and good performance on thinly traded AIM shares.

if it continues, I can foresee that certain contributors will no longer wish to be associated with this bulletin board.

all imo.

This is a v small market cap, hence bound to be volatile in a hairy market.

Very little selling either these last few days. In fact quite a few buys registering.

I personally bought more on the dip earlier this morning. Next TU should be interesting.

Thank you for some very interesting posts here. Below are some notes I made last week about AVS after looking back at some historic results.

.......

I thought it strange that brokers are still only estimating EPS 13p for the full year, after AVS made 13p EPS in H2. First I read the Edison note and found out that they just added H2 2014 to H1 2015 to arrive at their estimates. this period was still affected from large restructuring cost, which are completed now.

In 2013 and 2014 they had exceptional restructuring cost of £8,861m and £5,181m, which went towards the business in Germany, which is now trading at breakeven. I was looking at the difference in revenue between H1 and H2, but due to trading problems in 2013 and 2014 the results for these years would be meaningless.

So I went back to years 2011 and 2012 when the business was trading more normally, in 2011 the revenue split was 49/51 in favour of H2, and this is an odd year where there are less major sporting events like this year.

In 2012 even year the split was 47/53 in favour of H2. Both of these years were profitable.

AVS did say in the June interim statement that H2 had continued to be very encouraging, I see no reason why the revenue split wont be higher in H2, the only cost I can see that might be higher than H1 2015 would tax which is already at 45% due to America doing very well, and perhaps some restructuring in Asia, but this is only a small part of the business.

In conclusion I can find no reason why AVS wouldn't earn at least 13p EPS in H2, giving 26p EPS full year perhaps more?

I think the Directors are excellent and seasoned.

In my opinion, they predominantly want to get on with the underlying business, grow it, expand it and make it more innovative as a recognised centre of creative excellence within the industry.

Indeed, within their industry they promote themselves very well, are highly regarded and command great respect, winning frequent and highly acclaimed industry awards.

I am not convinced that they particularly value, encourage or desire a lot of attention in the financial media which can turn into a time-consuming circus.

Sometimes a higher profile in the financial media can be more trouble than it is worth, counter-productive and draining on management time. The Executive Chairman has a great deal of experience in running listed Companies and he certainly has the know-how and could readily join the financial circus if he so desired.

The management get top marks in my view for getting on with their jobs and their business and devoting their focus to that rather than seeking limelight in the financial media.

And let's face it, Avesco are really moving forward.

In my view , this strategy of a lighter touch in the financial media is for Avesco an excellent strategy. It seems to work very well that they keep themselves a little off the radar.

Serious AIM investors who understand accounts, who can read RNS's, who do the work on the underlying business will manage to uncover or seek out or discover Avesco rather than Avesco beating a big drum in public to try and draw in more and more investors to inflate the share price.

Believe you me, this strategy is doing very nicely as it is. And Mr. Murray is a shrewd operator who has surrounded himself with some very loyal and hard-working, straight-talking, business-focused Directors.

Just let them get on with their business. They are doing a fine job in my view. And those investors who have stuck with Avesco have had a great ride, with more to come.

There remains a lot of further value in the Company. That value will come of its own accord.

In my view - this is a case where perhaps a slightly more discrete profile with the financial media is very good and suits the Avesco house-style and business-style well.

I think the Company actually prefers a smaller, more discrete set of supportive and trusting investors rather than the shenanigans and diversions that can accompany a larger widespread shareholder base.

I am normally quite outspoken on my investments but this is a case where there is in my opinion absolutely no need to rock the boat. It's a boat which is sailing very nicely already with a great captain at the helm and terrific crew who have looked after their shareholder passengers very well and with a great deal of respect. - That is a truly rare case in the sometimes turbulent Aim sector.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

Not sure what you mean?? The numbers will do the promoting and the directors buying substantial amounts of shares shows how they feel about future prospects and is a great vote of confidence imv.

This is what I can't get my head around, it's like they don't want people to know how much they are undervalued and how well they are doing. I've been in a few years and last year kept scratching my head at why people were not buying, must have retread the reports, Twenty times, fortunately I trusted my research but why are the directors not out promoting the company, the upside needs more meat on the bone and doesn't get details on their otherwise excellent twitter feeds.

2016 nAV looks impressive aswel as P/E going forward although EPS growth 2015 is estimated to be -31.3%. But does recover next year 2016.
