Looks like they've found something to buy - unless there's a chance of a takeover? The former seems more likely:

"While the Board still intends to proceed with the Return of Cash, the Company has recently also been in discussions regarding another potential transaction [options to...] ... then to present such transaction to the Company's shareholders at the same time as, and together with, the [return of cash] Scheme."

They still have another week.

Also, given their quite diverse international shareholders, they're probably trying to structure it as advantageously as possible for other jurisdictions which is time consuming.

Ok so why the delay?

Erkman, they have a mkt cap of 57mm, net cash of 25mm and generate a lot of cash even when they're loss making (cash-flow from operations 8.3mm in Q3 alone). I don't think there's much danger we won't get a payout.

We are not going to get our money this year and possibly not at all if trading has been bad

As I was getting a little impatient with the lack of news, I phoned Avesco yesterday. I had a chat with someone in finance, and although she thinks the plans are unchanged, the Finance Director was not available. I am expecting a call back, however this may give them a little reminder that we are waiting news.

With the UK economy getting slowly but undoubtedly back into shape and with the prospect of a bumper "even" year ahead for 2014, looking forward to very good trading propsects for Avesco for the year ahead.

Will seriously be considering re-investing the proceeds of the special dividend back into more Avesco shares as I perceive a very bright future for this company.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

if your wife only gets a CD then you don't have enough stock fella ;)

yep..well aware that they have advised they would advise in November, yep its still November, but we are getting towards late November...always best to advise prior to shareholders becoming uneasy...

trust this clarifies ;)

have a good one, hope the wife enjoys the CD

They have advised Stoxx,

It will be 1.10 and they will advise in November the date of payment for December, its still November and I would expect a nice tickle in time for me to buy the wife a CD for Christmas.

Deanowls, I'll have a guess at £3, in the run up to the £1.10 dividend.

All IMHO No Advice Intended.
