09/9/2013 09:10 | The real issue with this share is lack of liquidity and lack of market-making which the Company need to address. Maybe they need, in my view only, to review their current brokers very carefully. The Company had a market cap of around £60m on Friday. This morning it has fallen to around £50m. As I write 32,000 shares have been traded or roughly £60,000 worth. £60,000 of trades ripping £10m off the market cap of Avesco is a symptom of a shallow market, lack of liquidity and this sort of price movement is more typical of much smaller cap AIM stocks. The Company needs to look carefully into this. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
09/9/2013 08:58 | Very upbeat note just released by Edison. We always knew that 2013 as an uneven year was going to look pallid against 2012 which included Olympics held in Avesco's home UK territory. The outlook for 2014 is very strong. The Company have reaffirmed their policy to grow the dividend despite a weak 2013. The balance sheet has been massively strengthened by the part retention of Disney monies. At around 80p per share ( 190p minus 110p December cash shareholder payout), these shares look cheap to me. On this basis, the forward yield looks very enticing for an AIM-stock with a strong 25 year record. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
09/9/2013 08:38 | not sure how you get that ? Strip out the £1.10 and you got share price at 80p or so. EPS forecast - before today - was 4.5-5p to remaining business valued at p/e of 16 or so ? The £3.09 is before deducting the £1.10 distribution so you are rather double counting that I fear and you have to factor in the cost of liquidating a business to get at the NAV - which is usually pretty high with redundancy , leases to pay off etc etc. | felix99
09/9/2013 08:37 | wow getting a sound thrashing at present !!! if NAV is £3.09... and special dividend is paid at £1.10 then company worth £1.99, where it is currently trading without dividend being paid.. i assume price would fall to 80p if divi were paid today.. so that leaves a hell of a lot of value in the company... so (in)efficient markets aside...why is this stock taking a bashing? | blubutton
09/9/2013 08:08 | Dividend payment of £1.10 in December, net assets of £3.09 per share, a bit of a bargain at £1.90, basically 40% discount and the business for nothing! :- " As a result, the overall profit for the Quarter of GBP40.6m was substantial and the net assets of the Group have increased to GBP3.09 per share as at 30 June 2013" | salonie
09/9/2013 07:12 | Dire results but the special dividend £ 1.10 payable in December ( if approved)... ZZZ | zorija

27/8/2013 08:55 | hxxp://michae1mouse. Anyone for a 51% dividend? Michael. | michaelmouse
27/8/2013 00:29 | Chart also looks interesting, is that a sign of a golden cross, not sure if it counts for such an illiquid share, but WDIK! | salonie
27/8/2013 00:24 | All quiet here. Anyone any thoughts on the forthcoming special dividend of 110p? I had a look at IND which paid out 72p last year, similar mkt cap to AVS. IND rose significantly prior to the payout. I wonder if AVS will follow a similar pattern or if the dividend is already in the price. I would like to think there is a little more to come! 08/8/2013 10:33 | Remember! Aim stocks can now be put into ISA's. Given the business momentum of Avesco combined with its dividend policy and that we are fast approaching an "even year", the attractions of Avesco as an investment remain compelling. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
08/7/2013 08:20 | There are buyers chipping away at AVS | alloa2003

19/6/2013 09:37 | Personally, I think Avesco are doing the right thing. 70% cash pay-out to ordinary shareholders on an INCREASED windfall of $66m ( rather than the anticipated $60m )seems absolutely in order to me, if not generous. If the Directors and other employees also benefit to the tune of a few million and if this keeps them incentivised, I think that this is a good idea and a just reward for their efforts and I personally have no problem with that. They did after all part-engineer, financially support the Disney legal action and hold true to their promise to distribute the majority of funds to shareholders. Having waited what seems like a decade to win the case after numerous appeals, a few months more prior to pay-out is hardly significant. Avesco need to structure the payment carefully and this takes time and Avesco have already proposed either Income or Capital options to allow individual shareholders to minmise tax consequences for their own circumstances. Not only are shareholders getting handsomely rewarded but we find ourselves with a de-geared company, debt-free coming up to an "even" year of 2014 where the Commonwealth Games - amongst many other events- would appear to have been mentioned repeatedly by Avesco. The prospects look very bright for this burgeoning company. They get my full vote on their corporate actions in relation to the Disney windfall and I believe they are treating shareholders very fairly. - Well done, Avesco. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
18/6/2013 20:23 | the email sent to avesco and the reply:- as an avesco shareholder could you be so kind as to answer the following, concerning your rns release this morning. 1) why do shareholders have to wait until the autumn to receive details of the return, other companies with this type of capital or income return to shareholders can manage to actually get the money to shareholders in 6 to 8 weeks. So why do we have this delay, which I cannot see any reason for. 2) regarding the £2.1 million cash bonus to LTIP holders.I gather this goes to employees and directors.while I have no problem with employees receiving this I would like to know how much of the £2.1 million is going to the directors.is the delay referred to in 1) above anything to do with the LTIP. 3)what is the £1 million related bonus, and who has received this bonus. thanking you for taking time to answer the above regards the reply from the fd was as follows:- thank you for your email. The delay in finalising the scheme is to give the board time to ensure that all major shareholders are happy with the proposals, and to allow for any banking consents that may be required (these always take longer than you think). The details of the LTIP and bonus payments will be included in the year end accounts, but aren't publicly available at this time. With best wishes. John my thoughts on the above ,suffice to say, words fail me. | funchalman |
