06/11/2013 11:05 | Shouldn't we be hearing about the £1.10 payout about now? | rogash
28/10/2013 13:16 | I have been in for 2 years and bailed out at 230p last week. At that level I felt there was more downside potential than upside in the short term. I was surprised how hard it was to sell 6,000 shares at a decent price as the rise indicated to me there was demand when it was perhaps not as strong as the share price was indicating. | alloa2003
27/10/2013 17:03 | New LED lightweight screens look interesting:- hxxp://michae1mouse. Michael. | michaelmouse
17/10/2013 18:49 | even better!! QP | quepassa
17/10/2013 17:21 | QP my research indicates a 10 year high. RM | rampmeister
17/10/2013 13:01 | New five year high just hit at 232p offer. The share is pregnant with a whopping 110p special Disney payout to shareholders plus the very bright prospects of an "even" year in 2014 with many major sporting events and when the UK economy seems firmly to have turned the corner and other economies looking healthier. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
15/10/2013 13:13 | These are not going to get let go easily for the next month, should build up until the payout. | deanowls
15/10/2013 13:11 | Topped up with a few myself today, looking good so far. | salonie
15/10/2013 12:47 | Thanks--AVS does suffer from lack of volume although the small buys are pushing this higher.... | williemanjaro
15/10/2013 12:45 | Hi Williemanjaro, with the £1.10 payout in December, AVS should have a good run in the next two months, here's hoping. I like the chart, looks positive, a little more volume would be good :- | salonie
15/10/2013 11:18 | right on the breakout here-bout time! | williemanjaro
14/10/2013 13:22 | I've had another little top up here today, roll on the prospectus next month which should see it moving further up. | deanowls
14/10/2013 10:28 | Fountain Studios, owned by Avesco, is mentioned in the FT today, page 21, in an article about the rejuvenation of Wembley and the new London Designer Outlet , a Shopping/Dining/Ente Fountain Studios is now rubbing shoulders with Wembley Stadium, Wembley Arena, the highly impressive new Brent Civic Centre and the stunning Designer Outlet in a newly regenerated area of London. Article mentions that they are hoping to see an increase in footfall from 4 million to ten million a year. Wembley Stadium can host 40 events per year. Wembley Arena 150. And the Designer Centre will likely be open 364 days a year. Certainly won't do any harm to the desirability of Fountain Studios as a key studio location as well as to its real estate value. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
08/10/2013 21:58 | GWR7 - Quite right. I'm really pleased that the spread didn't put you off. Fantastic news indeed. Acquisition looks a steal. Sorry for O/T. I have posted on the TRAK thread. Michael. | michaelmouse
08/10/2013 11:22 | O/T Thanks for the heads up on TRAKM8 michael. The spread was a shocker but as you pointed out you could deal inside and it doesn't look too much of an issue after today's news does it? | gwr7
18/9/2013 06:26 | chart looks good, building up for a break out................ | ammons
17/9/2013 21:20 | salonie - Don't mind at all. Cheers. Michael. P.S. They recently opened a new office in Singapore which further strengthens the case for their growth ambitions. hxxp://www.ct-group. | michaelmouse
17/9/2013 04:10 | Same for me Salonie, I explained my purchase here to the mrs over the weekend and she just looked at me strangely and said really! | deanowls
16/9/2013 21:59 | Michael, I certainly agree with your last paragraph : "Finally, 2014 is an even year which should boost profits substantially. Quite frankly in more than ten years of investing on the stock market I can't remember a situation where a profitable, cash generative and growing company(long term) with a NAV of £80m (mostly quality tangible assets) and £48m of cash on the balance sheet is valued at just £55m." I hope you don't mind my copy and paste. I had a look at IND which also paid a significant dividend to shareholders. It rose sharply before the dividend was paid and then re-adjusted after the payout. Hopefully we will see the same here. ATB | salonie

14/9/2013 20:21 | Let us not get carried away with a £30,000 director share purchase - good to see him buying shares but nothing in money terms or when looked at against his personal stake. This share purchase is more of a PR thing in my eyes - people will look at it and wonder why the director bought and who knows, we might get some favourable comment. We will only really be able to value the company after the dividend has been paid and we can see more clearly how the balance sheet looks. I have held these shares for over 2 years now and will continue to hold for the time being but if I saw them move significantly over 220p I might be tempted to cash some in. | alloa2003
12/9/2013 07:47 | Esteemed Chairman Richard Murray picked up a further 15000 shares odd at 200p each for total consideration of £30,000. Richard Murray founded the Company . Always good to see Director Buying which is a sign of faith in the prospects of the Company. Especially following the recent release of results. He now personally owns some 5.5million shares in The Company being 21.2% of The Company. Valued at 205p per share, this is a personal stake of £11.275m. He has a lot of "skin in the game" and to see him buy more is encouraging. In my opinion this points to a likely outperformance for 2014 against a muted 2013. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
10/9/2013 06:15 | It fell to 190p pretty much first thing. At 8.30am, some trades were even going through at 186p And the share price bounced back during the day QP | quepassa
09/9/2013 21:52 | Did Avesco really fall below £2 first thing? I'll comment more in my blog over the weekend, but for starters:- Market cap. around £54m Cash and cash equivalents £48m Ignore the operating profit for the 3 and 9 month period, it's the trading profit that's more important. Operating expenses have been impacted by a one-off charge of £3m - Payments to LTIP holders and bonuses in connection with the Disney settlement. Gross profit was actually better over the 9 month period than last year (London Olympics)and not much different for the 3 month period. Excellent cash generation and a substantial amount of debt has already been paid down. Long term borrowings stood at £21.5m at the end of 2012, and are currently down to £15.5m with more debt reduction on the way. Cash generation and the balance sheet continue to make Avesco a long term hold for me, and 2014 will undoubtedly see a pick up in trading again. Michael. | michaelmouse |
