04/6/2013 16:41 | Would have thought it would have been better to pay off the debt first, then the finance charges will become additional profit? | royaloak
04/6/2013 14:22 | CR you must be psychic have been expecting this news for sometime it looks as though there will be a special payout to shareholders Managed to buy some more Avesco at 228p -forecast results will be indifferent but pay out should underpin the shares estimated payout to shareholders of £1.50 quoted a few months ago | tiger20
04/6/2013 13:42 | Spot on with the timing CR. As well as the Disney payout, and the business, the NAV is high as well, at 148p per share. | salonie
04/6/2013 12:13 | Nice timing me mentioning these first thing this am Willie :-) CR | cockneyrebel
04/6/2013 12:04 | It's a biennial business so probably make PBT of 3mm this year and 5mm next. They also generate prodigious amounts of cash now their capex is reducing. But $66mm after tax is 165p per share and they should be able to return most of it to shareholders. | wjccghcc
04/6/2013 11:50 | News out!!!! " The Group is now pleased to announce the receipt yesterday of its share of the award, including interest and after third party taxes and costs. The Group now estimates the net value of the sum received, after tax and other costs, to be approximately 10% higher than the previously estimated $60m, principally due to the effects of post judgement interest and lower corporate tax rates both at the third party and for the Group." $66m coming in - £43m net after tax? Mkt cap £56m - the whole of the rest of the business valued at £13m ? They are making £5.8m pbt per annum. If that's correct :-) All imo/dyor etc CR | cockneyrebel
04/6/2013 08:15 | oh the rebels returned! Amazed this share has retraced to these levels-----that stonking dividend appears to have been forgotten... | williemanjaro
04/6/2013 08:12 | indeed Richard could be a flag here and price action moving in same pattern as has happened historically suppose will all come down to actual dividend to be paid and how they pay it.. i had expected the price to make more of a march North before now.... | stoxx67
04/6/2013 07:44 | Interims in 10 days or so - on a nice low and a support line to bounce off again imo. CR | cockneyrebel
30/5/2013 09:39 | Avesco need to address the problems of broker coverage, number of market makers and lack of liquidity in this stock. A relatively insignificant sale of 13000 shares or some £26,000 in value having the effect of depressing the share price by 2% is nonsense. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
28/5/2013 10:24 | Just read your blog Michael. I don't think you'll miss advfn. They've had years to ban the prolific use of avatars by certain individuals but have done nothing about it. | gwr7
16/5/2013 17:07 | Well done salonie Shows enterprise on your part | tiger20
16/5/2013 16:59 | Hi All, I emailed investor relations at Avesco and asked for an update regarding the Disney Case. Obviously they could not feedback any sensitive information, however here is the response which will give you an idea of the timescales for information: Thank you for your enquiry. We hope to provide a further update to shareholders regarding the timing of the anticipated receipt of funds in Avesco's half year results, which are due to be announced in the middle of June. However, if the payment is received before then, an announcement will be made at the time of receipt. | salonie
16/5/2013 14:44 | why the stop in share price ? | pappupops
15/5/2013 09:17 | I agree - soak up any loose stock and then it should get squeezed higher. | alloa2003
15/5/2013 09:14 | looking ready to pop | stoxx67
14/5/2013 15:51 | buy buy news out soon . | pappupops
13/5/2013 17:20 | Looks like we might see a bit of a squeeze in this one if the buyers come back in. | alloa2003
12/5/2013 21:18 | Posted by Vivgav on another thread. Hopefully AVS will be paid soon. | salonie
08/5/2013 21:06 | That wasn't a press release it was the results rather than the SEC filing but no real problem | watermelonman
08/5/2013 18:58 | watermelon.have a look at the sec.filing at edgar on line.10-Q quarterly report. then look under legal proceedings. Have not read their press release,as the sec filing shows the nitty gritty of the results without the flannel. | funchalman
08/5/2013 18:14 | funchal. where in the results issued yesterday was the bit you posted? I am a Disney shareholder and my results don't mention litigation payout or some future date | watermelonman
08/5/2013 17:14 | Typo56,can understand the litigation news to an extent, celador U.S lawyers would have probably reported back directly to celador, not avesco. However no excuse for avesco not being able to tell us what we want to know, the minute the money is in their bank,as they have had over 4 months at least in my book to plan.I want to keep holding these shares after the payout as most are in my sipp and I can see an increasing dividend in the years ahead.however if they are incapable of planning ahead on something that has been staring them in the face for months then I will definitely have second thoughts. | funchalman |
