22/6/2011 14:18 | yorgi, no worries. Glad I am going away tomorrow as this market is rubbish at the minute. If anyone isn't familiar with SEA, they have just got the go ahead to sell their SERL business which will leave them debt free and with 43pps of cash. They have a 5pps stake in LOGP on top so that's 48p base case. SEA are currently 29.5p to buy : ) | ![]() christianf12
22/6/2011 14:18 | Institutional selling is usually triggered if the price falls below a pre-determined percentage of the acquisition price. In layman's terms, a stop loss. It's not likely to be anything more than that if Aegon are selling. | phoenixbird
22/6/2011 14:07 | What and David William, Alan Foster and William Wyatt know nothing.....I'm quite sure they would not be throwing money away if they knew there were problems and the business was flawed. | ![]() yorgi
22/6/2011 14:06 | I'm sure there is nothing untoward out there, ARGY, save the widespread re-rating of stocks without meaningful earnings. But Ageon's action suggests they think the re-rating has further go (otherwise it'd be madness to sell). I wonder what they base it on? | pbracken
22/6/2011 14:01 | Therein lies the $64000 question. What do they know? | ![]() argy2
22/6/2011 14:00 | Oh, and why would they be flogging at these relatively depressed prices? | pbracken
22/6/2011 13:57 | Ageon have been flogging shares, the thick end of 600K if I read the RNS right. Question is, have they finished? | pbracken
22/6/2011 13:38 | Agreed Phoenixbird good post :-) | ![]() yorgi
22/6/2011 13:38 | yorgi, yes and AVN's fall is the same as the fall yesterday. More tomorrow? Probably. Shambles. | ![]() christianf12
22/6/2011 13:36 | It's simple: - illiquid stock means disproportionate mark down on few sales - nagging questions about its product placement in the market - predatory shorters smelling blood and playing on peoples' fears - uncertainty in the markets thanks, in the main, to the lazy siesta focused Greeks, Spaniards and Portuguese - A general distrust and falling regard for AIM listed companies in an increasingly risk averse environment - Hypers and rampers stating that the company will be worth £25 per share and a general belief that this is too good to be true - PI's losing their bottle and bailing out - A distrust of the Board in view of the timing of their previous sales ....and the list goes on This should all be irrelevant to you if you believe in the business model and are in it for the long term. | phoenixbird
22/6/2011 13:28 | I'm surprised we haven't had an rns regarding what capacity of HYLAS-1 is now actually in use. the transfer over of the "old" customers, allowing for glitches, should be complete by now and new business being loaded on. I confess to being more concerned right now about income being earned from actual USE of the satellite than what furture contracts we are winning. if the satellite is not actually being used then we don't get any dosh. having strung out the testing phase for longer than I had expected I would like to be reassured that HYLAS-1 is actually delivering the goods. | ![]() backmarker
22/6/2011 13:25 | Are you joking? XEL up 6% today and plenty of other companies making new highs. I bought 12k shares last week and the market maker wanted a 5p premium to then price. One wanted a 10p premium. It's fallen ever since. Something is not right. | ![]() christianf12

22/6/2011 12:52 | Been in AVN for quite a while.Sold 75% of my holding immediately post launch. Have held balance during the shorting campaign on the advice of TW(T1ps)and RHPS that all was well with the company and now was the time to be buying not capitulating. They point to Directors buys as evidence that all's well. The question I would ask is, are they buying because they think they have to or because they want to? Does anyone know any organisation or individual that receives a broadband service from AVN ? If so what is the service like and what is it costing ? A drop such as we have seen is incomprehensible for a company who said at launch its share price would be worth £25 ultimately and apparently has full funding for HYLAS 2 and is planning a third satellite. it just doesn't add up IMHO. | ![]() par555
22/6/2011 12:26 | whats the 370000 buy all about?? How can the buys be 500000 against sells of 85000 and the share price be down? | ![]() jonnib
22/6/2011 11:19 | pojscott - I suppose you could put it as - It has been well and truly plucked and don't tell anybody but there is still some tasty meat on the bones - cod still taking the tablets. | ![]() codhead1
22/6/2011 11:13 | Is this now a dead duck? Should we just sell and get out??? | ![]() pojscott
22/6/2011 11:10 | But surely we are missing the point. Avanti supply the companies who sell on broadband and mobile to the companies who then sell on services. Just because you personally are not receiving your service at home direct from a sattelite does not mean your service is not supplied to you , somewhere along the line , via sattelite. The obvious sulution for communities , as is reported to be happening in parts of remote Scotland is to feed a site via sattelite then distribute links to the customers from that site whether it be via small dishes line of sight or via existing landline as is the most overall cost efficient solution.Yes something is very wrong here - where are the big contracts talked about post launch? | ![]() codhead1
22/6/2011 10:48 | johnrx99 I am similarly glad I sold. This board is eloquent testimony on how you should not be emotionally tied to a stock. Nothing wrong with AVN as a company, but they will be overtaken by better land based technology. My brother in law lives in a bit of Ireland which is very rural and remote. He has wireless BB at a reasonable price. Not a satellite in sight. Yes I know about the business continuity offering and the cellular use of satellites, but the biggest market is SATELLITE BROADBAND. I think SC should have kept his short running | rwilliams57
22/6/2011 10:33 | Blimmey, I'm glad I sold. | ![]() johnrxx99
22/6/2011 09:57 | think it's market uncertainty , traders are risk adverse at present especially with Greece and to a lesser extent Ireland and Portugal even the US is close to default, usually a good time to pickup bargains, buy whilst most are selling etc, non profit making startup small caps suffer most, am into a few cash rich companies, Telecomplus 14p div, Photo-me, InternetQ etc hopefully they will do well in today's climate | ![]() malcolmmm |
