15/12/2010 19:59 | Now the 'sell on news' merchants are out, the more patient investors should be able to reap the rewards. | level 2 ate my hamster
15/12/2010 19:20 | No idea Terryebby, could be either of those or in my opinion a lonely person with time on their hands and a warped sense of humour. I am not bothered by what he is saying as have filtered and ignore. I guess he will go away when we are rising and return if we are marking time like we are now rather | yorgi
15/12/2010 18:19 | Anyone have any idea why this SUPERG1 character is on all of the bulletin boards all day every day for months constantly finding a new line of attack. Either he is a very dedicated short, or he is being paid by someone to do this. | terryebby
15/12/2010 17:25 | I've seen a few reports re revenues of £45 to £50m. That may be conservative I don't know but in the absence of figures in the RNS's it's difficult to gauge. Broker predictions for Hylas 1 in share value is below the current share price, that's why I suggest all of Hylas 1 is priced in. It's Hylas 2 that all eyes will be on now. If some big company puts in a big order that shows confidence and potential future uptake for other sats. My concern is talk of big rapid contracts by AVN but no real sign of that yet and today didn't help re mention of 3 years. 3 years was the original target, but I would expect as many do for the capacity to be filled quickly if demand is so great. Perhaps big contract will come soon. I've seen reference to running costs of £7m PA. They have cash in the bank which is good. 2011 won't bring profits and 2012 a loss it seems due to the loan (£33m PA so £40m including costs that year). 2013 break even it seems. then profits 2014 if Hylas 2 fills up well. Someone may have the exact figures which would help. There must be a few broker forecasts for you to view and digest. Personally I'd avoid the companies that have a direct interest in Avanti or share options like DS. Best to stick with unbiased unnconnected firms. One firm has a guy on the AVN board. | superg1
15/12/2010 16:38 | superg1 how much revenue do you think a fully sold Hylas 1 would generate ? | colva
15/12/2010 15:29 | If the company wants to keep its share price above that 700 line while awaiting serious contract news - it would have helped had today's statement referred to ongoing negotiation with those two mobile phone companies - just to remind everyone. | m.t.glass
15/12/2010 14:01 | yorgi - the week between Xmas and New year is usually one of my best weeks of the year, but that's for trading rather than for growth stocks. | m.t.glass
15/12/2010 13:43 | I think we are going to find that is the case with quite a few shares now until the new year MT. | yorgi
15/12/2010 13:04 | Why isn't it heading North. How many times do I have to say Hylas 1 full capacity is priced in. Nothing other than full capacity is expected. However the original 3 year that was hyped up to being full in 1 year is now back to 3. There must be such huge demand to take 3 years to fill it. So that means 8 years to fill hylas 2 on that rate. | superg1
15/12/2010 12:59 | The share price has been placed in an almost stationary position a few pence north of £7 for the timebeing. It is bobbling about a bit but that apparently is normal. Hopefully it will be kicked into a higher orbit when enough buyers put enough coins in the slot. | m.t.glass
15/12/2010 12:53 | Yep. I expect it will just hover around here for a bit until those contracts kick in and the cash starts to flow. A bit like the satellite! | jeffian
15/12/2010 11:19 | I think as Malcolmmm pointed out Christmas factor.....I don't think we will see much change before January now.......begining to think it might be worth forgetting about it all till the new year | yorgi
15/12/2010 11:10 | "..Seems a bit odd to me--very very good news and yet people selling and share price going down??? Do not understand!" "Everything's OK" is not a headline that would sell newspapers. All today's news does is quell any concerns that any faults have been found. | m.t.glass
15/12/2010 11:07 | Thanks peetle. I presumed it must be summat like that but your explanation makes even more sense of it ;o) | m.t.glass
15/12/2010 10:48 | Sp's at Christmas can be even more unpredictable than usual, January is a good time to be fully loaded | malcolmmm
15/12/2010 10:29 | Yep Yorgi, you have given me a laugh, more than the share price at any rate! John | 2350220
15/12/2010 10:14 | Pleased to have given you smile/laugh John :-) | yorgi
15/12/2010 10:14 | Lets all buy another 100,000 shares each--that should drive the price up. | pojscott
15/12/2010 09:55 | Why are we not heading north after such good news that all is well in space with Hylas-1? | adorling
15/12/2010 09:41 | Yorgi: ".....excellent RNS and the share price slips......what do they want to hear it has found oil and gold up there :-)" Not very often I do actually LoL, but I did when I read this post!! Very funny Yorgi. And incredibly informative post Peetle, but just not as funny :-) John W | 2350220
15/12/2010 09:40 | However if we continue with flow of contract wins....and maybe that one talked of with mob company then we should keep a steady rise in the SP | yorgi
15/12/2010 09:39 | No worries, pojscott & yorgi. I'm an unapologetic space nerd so it's nice to be able to share, and invest in something interesting. | peetle |
