Bought £38k's worth for my SIPP today. Damn near needed a change of undercrackers afterwards - never done a deal remotely like that before. Ariane ppppllllleeeaaassseeeee don't crash.

Think there may be a slight overhang from the placing @ £4.30 a lot of selling around the £4.75 mark once this clears the price should start rising again we hope!!

Yes Dolores I'm quite sure once we have a definite date we will be the other side of 500p and then on from there once in operation. I'm not to bothered if we stay in this range a bit longer as I want to add some more but don't have any funds at the moment

I agree with you Yorgi. In fact the announcement of a firm launch date alone could send the share price over £5.

I am hoping for an October launch using an Arianne 5.

We are like a coiled spring waiting for that release and then we will be back on track moving up very quickly

Dolores/Blinkey..thanks for that. Just sent the forms off today. Have the valuation so just waiting fro them now. Really want it sorted soon so I can put a large piece of it in avanti. There arent that many stocks around that have this much potential and if there are glitches with launch the long term prospects are still excellent.
Blinkey...bit of a coincidence, i am transferring mine from Sainsburys!

jonnib - I transferred my Tesco pension in to a SIPP - started mid-November 09 and was completed early Feb - longest part was waiting for them to come up with valuation prior to decision and starting it in November.

jonnib - I transferred my Legal and General PPP to Sippdeal (A J Bell Sipps) and the whole procees only took 3 weeks and would have been quicker if I had not had a week's holiday.

My Sipp has since been buying AVN shares!!

Ariane web site isn't great for this information, the only thing I have found is on wickipedia, saying that there is a second satellite paired to launch with Hylas, (this was one of the delaying factors), and that October is the month for launch, but no specific date.

That ties in with Avanti saying there is a 6 week delay. If it had been extended I think that they have to let us know that as soon as they do. So I figure they are trying to set a firm date, (I think this is a new launch site for Ariane, so maybe that is part of the reason?)

Long term business case looks excellent. Agree it'd be good to have the bloody thing off the ground!

NaeClue - oh yes...that's right, I forgot but no news of earlier launch date. If October surely we would know by now?

Yes I would agree with that it is successfull launch that's important and a few more weeks here and there are not so critical and once launched it will be in operation for some years. From Hylas1 that will give us the revenue stream to help expand further

I'm pretty sure that table is out of date, Soyuz 2-1a / Fregat is shown as the launching company. Avanti have been switched to Ariane to get an earlier launch date, (as described in the rns

ie, the switch was made to launch prior to December the 17th. My money is on an October launch date, but I'm not convinced it matters to a huge degree, just as long as it launches and tests out successfully.

Jonnib - its a few year ago since I did same but I wouldn't count on having the money to invest in your SIPP in less than say 6 weeks. depends primarily on your existing pension provider and how fast they act.

Just a response to your suggestion of fear holding the Sp back, think i miss read...I thought you meant fear of failure on launch not fear of the launch date being delayed further. I too believe its still a good time to buy and am going to see my broker with a pension i wish to transfer to a SIPP so I can add. Anyone know how long it takes, I have the transfer value??
cheers

I'm not quite sure what your saying Jonib.....As you say odds of failure at launch small and satelite thoroughly tested which I agree with and so when all comes together the revenue stream starts...

I can see only the launch as holding the cautious back but wrongly so in my opinion and hence a great oppertunity to buy/add

Im not so sure Yogi. Even for a novice who has done litle research like myself the odds of failure are very small. Doesnt the launch site have a 96% success rate? and we are assured the sattelite has been thoroughly tested? appreciate the risk element is still there but to what extent....certainly a far safer bet than my other stock thats trying to find oil. Maybe people wont pile in until the launch date has been confirmed which surely must be soon?

One thing for sure a lot higher than where we are now. I believe too much fear regarding the launch which is holding the share price down at present.

Well, if you take a P/E ratio of 20 to reflect increasing earnings and new satellite launches, then EPS of £1.12 would give a share price of £22.40. Similar to cenkos current DCF model of £22.25.
