Mallaband - the latest AVN rns on the launch schedule notes that they have the option of using an Arianne 5 in September.

I am just back from holiday and note that Shares magazine lists AVN as a possible contender for a 2010 move to the main list!

Just waiting for the Budget this week to see what CGT changes are going to be introduced generally.

The bad news for Inmarsat can only be very good news for AVN as others have noted above.

2 links that a poster on the LSE board submitted regarding the launch delay. But there has been no RNS on this? Can anyone clarify this?

I love the way that investors worry about the effects the potental end of the world could have on Avanti's share price. My bet this share will never be so cheap, during armageddon.

Just imagine how valuable capacity on an unlaunched Hylas 2 would be if it came to pass and all the communicatios satellites were destroyed

I'm sure it's the end of the world in 2012 so it really doesn't matter!

julcester - I am aware of the increased probability of sunspots in 2012, they are part of a normal cycle and are predicted decades in advance. The ROFL part was that you could seriously believe that's why ISAT/AVN are down today.

Most modern stellites (HYLAS included) can be positioned into (or away from) any particularly strong solar activity, so protecting from serious damage.

Exceptionally large solar flares pose much more danger to earth bound electronics/electrics.

No, read it yourself.

I'm not sure their insurance will cover an 'act of god', which I presume a solar flare comes under.
