No obvious reason David other than the usual fluctuations, Hylas 2 just launched successfully and all the news flow from the company has beeb good so it would look like a good time to buy/add.

I'm afraid I don't think AVN has still not shaken off the doubters from last year who tried to sow seeds of doubt. If all goes to plan as up to now it would appear to be at some stage their will be a rapid move north in my view...but I have thought that for a long time !

I wish I had some free cash to take advantage of this price as this surely is bargain looking at 12 months plus ! However it wouldn't be a bad thing if it stayed around here until we move to the main market then buy in ISA for the longer view.

amazing, price below H2 pre launch.

not a penny in the price for post launch de-risk.

I guess the risk of failure to launch was zero or -ive. in this case.

Maybe the market was expecting a failure and, in its view, a more value enhancing insurance claim and return of funds to shareholders?

wilksey - I don't know where you get 'the sat will be turned on by the w/end' from.

The 345 area is now the likely support unless there are contract announcements. I wouldn't buy back (unless there are such announcements) above this price.

I wrote the following on the other board (part of post 213 on 2nd Aug):

Away from this 'technical reporting' we have the potential for new sales. This, dare I say, is unlikely to materialise until there has been a successful launch, deployment and testing. No one is likely to move beyond their current commitments (apart from maybe topping them up on Hylas1) until this is announced. Similarly new business will be held back by the same restraints. This does not mean that AVN will not have contacts drawn up and in the pipeline – just that they may not be signed for some time.

Yorgi , yes, but i'v got enough tucked away for the longer term so i'm hoping these are a short term trade , though the definition of a long term hold is a short term trade gone wrong so i might have to hold them for a while .

I was expecting that AVN would announce this week that all is OK (so far) with Hylas 2. I was also expecting at least one new contract announcement for Hylas 2. These were my assumptions in my forecast of 450p by the end of the week. I expect to see some positive share price movement when these announcements arrive.

To be honest I am not really that surprised re the share price at present. What gives me confidence in AVN is that they are delivering what they promised - however there are stll risks attached to the company. I think once the market has a clearer view of revenues then the share price will take care of itself ( and should reward holders handsomely)
