SC is not registered with the FSA and thus they don't have the power to stop him trading. And, anyway, why would they in this instance? All that has happened is that a broker has published a sell note and SC has made a trade based on that note. So far, it is looking like a pretty good call on his part. I doubt he will stay short for much longer.

Hylas1 goes live any day now and im sure that the RNS will include some comment on the recent share price volatility . The directors have all of the upto date info on contracts , pricing and demand , and will also have all the info about the " pre-service mission which is using HYLAS to demonstrate certain capabilities that are relevant to future business". - and they are buying big.

On the other hand SC and his mates don,t have this info and are short.

Someone is clearly behind the curve here.

Stubborn for sure ! I guess it has become a battle that he refuses to back down to TW and if he keeps up insisting he is right and posting so he is banking on his disciples following him hence at least temporarily "winning" and then regardless of what happens in a few weeks time he can claim he was right.

SC will of course be inclined to go with his informants reply to Avanti criticisms of his analysis as he is shorting but the commentary he posted seems weak on a number of points and others haven't been addressed and it looks like this has descended into some sort of dogfight . It doesn't look like SC understands or chooses not to understand the technology along with his informant and is blindly following his informant who is trying desperatly to maintain credibility.

Yorgi,

I agree. I don't think the Director purchases would prevent an RNS being issued. After all, the headline figures for the order book have already been released so a clarification RNS would not be price sensitive.

The Directors may regard pricing information as being commercially sensitive information though. I expect some pretty hefty discounts were given to induce customers to sign up early. If new customers were aware of this pricing it might strengthen their bargaining position.

"Eutelsat say that likely wholesale fees for
capacity to its Sat2Way/Tooway service will be about
€30 per month for a download speed of 3.6Mb/s (and
an upload speed of 512 Kb/s) with a cap set at 2.4Gb
max), or €60 for a 6 Gb cap. Eutelsat say that ViaSat-
supplied SurfBeam 2 terminals will cost around €300,
(and compares with €2000 back in 2003)."

Yes, a nice ding dong battle. A Market is made up of buyers and sellers and I am surprised how excited some people get when a bear case is posted. SC has drawn attention to the downside risk and it is always useful to be reminded of that. It means you don't get carried away thinking you have invested in a dead cert. There is always risk

I don't know how strict the rules are about releasing an RNS now to lay out the facts in view of the directors having just bought shares. I would think in the circumstances it would be quite acceptable but that is just my opinion.

Although I see no reason to doubt the directors stated €45M pa earnings capability for Hylas1 and therefore a good justification for a £7 plus shareprice, I do think the directors have played this rather amateurishly.
Directors buying their own stock is not evidence for or against a higher shareprice. What is needed is a definitive statement from the company to lay out the facts regarding the relative transmitting power of Hylas 1 compared to Eutelsat's bacofoil equivalent. However, they have driven themselves into a bit of a corner by their share purchases since a red flag will now be raised against them if they make a price-sensitive announcement so soon after their purchases.
From a purely technical point of view, the longer the chart remains around the £5 area the more likely it is to rebound upwards. Potential buyers of the stock are waiting to pile in at whatever is deemed to be the bargain bottom. If it doesn't fall from here soon, many will assume that now is their chance to buy before it's suddenly back at £6 plus.
What a ding dong battle it is. Nice to be watching from the sidelines!
