26/11/2010 21:30 | Then with the hard/risky work done, it won;t be a cheap sell and we will be on a winner either way | ![]() 2vdm
26/11/2010 21:28 | Too right! However I just can`t help thinking that this could be an ideal fit for BT or Virgin-all the hard work is done now. | blue forever
26/11/2010 21:23 | BF, I hope you are right, but ask yourself this. If you got £13 plus soon (i.e. double the current price), would you be a happy camper. Certainly you could top slice and sit on a highly attractive proposition, without much risk, even assuming David Williams is only half right. Nice position to be in? | ![]() 2vdm
26/11/2010 21:13 | Bullish comments re share price tonight by David Williams. Was he A Just telling it the way it is? B Posting a buy out price for would be predators? C Trying to encourage investors to hold for the long term? Or all of the above? | blue forever
26/11/2010 21:09 | David Williams, chief executive of Avanti, the firm that built the satellite, was in bullish form about the prospects for satellite broadband, claiming that he has enough spectrum licenses to send another 20-odd into space. | ![]() sco77harris
26/11/2010 21:03 | africa99, Done ; thx for advice... ZZZ | ![]() zorija
26/11/2010 20:57 | Let's keep calm. It's not done yet. 1)The satellite has to work (which we should know fairly shortly) and 2) Hylas 2 is a while off yet. We live in a dangerous and unstable world. Lastly, the speculators who have taken the risk tonight (and, like us, went for the now 40 out of 40 successful launches) may cash in early soon and who can blame them for taking such an initial risk and being rewarded. I expect initial excitement and then perhaps a drop and stabilisation. A good play if you want to take advantage and are fast enough. It would be great to think that this will shoot up and continue to do so, but life is rarely like that. I go back to my previous (and others' posts). You either believe in this project or you don't and that separates the short term speculators from the investors. It's been a great night for the PIs,and it may be that even some institutions take an early interest, but I suspect that they will look for the right entry point and it won't be Monday morning. The real deal will be heading towards the Hylas 2 launch (2012?)and I won't be surprised if we see quite a bit of up and down positioning before we get anywhere near David William's £25 and if you are that way inclined, take advantage of it at your own risk. I am long and so would love to be proved wrong and FWIW I hope that we can have fun next week (and the months ahead) without losing sight of the long term potential. Great result for David Williams and I hope he sleeps well tonight. | ![]() 2vdm
26/11/2010 20:43 | So far, so good. C'mon HYLAS, deploy correctly so I can get some decent broadband speed from ya! | ![]() outsizeclothes.com
26/11/2010 20:39 | HYLAS 1 is the first satellite lofted by Arianespace for Avanti Communications. Designed and built by EADS Astrium in partnership with the Indian Space Research Organisation, HYLAS 1 is to bring high-speed broadband services to remote rural areas across Europe using the flexibility of its payload to change the bandwidth of its 8 Ka-band beams from an orbital position of 33.5 deg. West, maximizing the satellite's efficiency. "I would like to congratulate Avanti Communications for this superb entry into the world of space-based telecommunications operators," Le Gall said. "The decision to place its confidence in Arianespace for the launch of this satellite becomes particularly pertinent this evening, as HYLAS 1 was launched with success before the end of 2010 which is exactly as desired by our customer." | ![]() malcolmmm
