BOD are often unable to buy because of closed periods. Also why would you risk your own money when you can just issue yourself some free motivational share options. They do deserve them as they work very hard and only get paid a tiny amount, last year I think they only gave themselves 3% of the company.

It didn't happen that way with AFF bsg. They have plenty. Gold forecast for 1050 in 2016 and DR must be thinking of a cosy retirement at some stage. It's just wild speculation on my part. Tbh I'm staggered at the market's indifference to AUE, given it is now a producer. There is zero excitement surrounding the co.

The more I think about DR's mention of a 40p offer the more I think he was putting a for sale sign up. There could be some moves once we achieve a steady state in production at NL.

Unless they ramp it up significantly it looks like they are behind schedule for producing 60,000oz this year but good to have some news of progress.

Very promising summary in today's RNS. Transparent statement of teething issues being overcome by professional management. But for the POG we would be turning handsprings at this announcement, and we should be congratulating DR and his team for getting to where we are against almost insuperable odds.

The key question is what today's news does for the share price given the current weak POG. There is margin value, even at today's POG, and analysts will start assessing AUE as a gold producer from here on with the value add of the surrounding exploration prospectivity. On balance AUE is now looking under valued at the current share price

So looks like end of year before they iron out any wrinkles which will speed up the mining process...should be good 2016.

With North Korea on a war footing gold could be in for a major leg up, not that I'm advocating North and South Korea have a war, just adds more tensions and uncertainty around the world.

A new interview from yesterday also new photos on the website. Ramp up is obviously proving more difficult than expected and imo explains the fall from 30p to 20p as always private investors being the lowest plankton are the last to know/find out.

Highest price in a month, like Matt points out seems to have made a nice base.

Seems to be trying to break out of the wedge formation

50dma @ 23.7
100 dma @ 24.6
200 dma @ 22.3

so a bit of resistance to get through.

Hopefully there are no major problems and commercial production is achieved before the money runs out.


gold price also looking a little better of late.

SB, I have never heard the DR stating anything about an offer in public, I believe the comment came from an informal discussion after the AGM. Anyway, apart from it being a bit careless, I don't read too much into it, any offer at almost twice the current value would need to be taken seriously and put to the shareholders, not much new about that....
