Can anyone tell me where I can find an up to date list of shareholders owning more than 3% of the company?

I make that circa 93% holdings between institutions and directors. Interesting development.

From the interims:

"As such, the board is confident that current year market expectations will be achieved."

Augean added that discussions with potential bidders are ongoing. News of potential offers at a "significant premium" first broke in August (circa 66p).

So thats a 2008 PTP of £4m and a company which is in an area with huge barriers to entry and good forecasted growth especially approaching the London Olympics. Add in the bonus of a major shareholder with substantial cash resources and other possible bidders thrown in and this makes Augean a good short term punt or at worst a great long term investment

And yet Simon Gordon sees "this pup going bust"!!!!

Anyway this article suggests the deal is done by One51!

"Economic slowdown will focus more attention on our indigenous knowledge economy businesses. The quarterly results show that while there is no surge in activity, investors and founders are still investing, and others are getting exits," said Neil Pope, director, WHO42.

"Of the €55.9m invested during Q3, most was focussed on later-stage companies, rather than start-ups. However, our knowledge economy funnel is not being fed at the top and there is a requirement for next-generation companies to access funding."

Two deals worth amounting to €56m included the purchase by Dublin-based investment group, One51, of the UK hazardous waste business, Augen, and the sale of automotives player, Iralco, to Galway manufacturer, CF Tooling.

I can see this pup going bust and then being bought by the vultures. It is a totally flawed company. Bad management and bad strategy.

Good fortune!

Looks like Managemnent may be the competition to One51. The fact remains that Augean will see huge benefits from the 2012 Olympics. Seems to be a big hedge for any recession.

LBO.
I am holding on tight to AUG. Even modest buying today has sent them up 5% and there is some way to go even to regain the loss caused by MM panicking on Friday.

PARIS-BASED environmental services group Veolia has received four bids for its Irish waste management business, which it has decided to sell.

Is is understood that Bord na Móna/AES, Panda, Greenstar and One51 have all lodged bids for Veolia Environmental Services.

Veolia's Irish waste division is thought to have been valued at about €70 million, and the sale process is being handled by AIB Corporate Finance.

Added 5k at this price after the MM panicking and slashing the share price on a mediocre volume of sells.

It is very frustrating knowing there are "several approaches" yet no actual bid. In the event, whilst not holding many shares in AUG, I would put the proceeds straight back into the market whilst so many good company shares are on their knees.I am determined not to sell now, as sods law as soon as I do, a bid will be announced. The FY results will undoubtedly be good, so I am going to wait for as long as it takes.

On Thursday Capitol Hill is likely to make a favourable decision on the rescue package, which should give the markets a boost, which I think is already in process. Decisions, decisions!
