Makes sense given the speculation.
Relatively small buys, so maybe PI with an inside track?

The buys on Friday timed with US open. Interesting to see if that happens again today...

IHeartmedia know boom very well and have been doing business for 3 years or so.
They will not want another to buy Boom as it could upset what they already have established.
Perfect storm ...

It is funny how I keep hearing about Sony more and more now. They were making noises about 9-12 months ago.
Strategic purchasing could dictate price.

Ringer was acquired for around £150m in cash with around 100m monthly downloads and $15m revenue in 2018. Gimlet acquired for £186m with revenue in 2017 around $15m. If you look at the growth dynamic for Boom 2017-2019 it was doubling its revenue every year. If Gimlet and Ringer were as successful it would make Ringer revenue in 2019 around $30m (£24m) so very similar to Boom in 2019. Gimlet would be well ahead of that over £30m ? Also Gimlet had almost 100 staff and people say that Spotify paid more because they wanted to use Gimlet’s team to help with monetising Spotify’s podcast too. Audioboom has around 30 employees at the moment and good knowledge of how to monetise podcast. I think Boom is worth to Spotify as much as it’s content (similar to Gimlet) so £150m. But Boom maybe worth more to someone like Sony or someone else as content+ experienced creative & sales team. As much as £180m .

Perhaps Spotify releasing first quarter update on the 29th of April will be our answer if don’t hear from Boom by then.

When RP was in charge there were leaks and trading patterns were reflective of that.
See movement before significant RNS's.
Currently they are running a very tight ship.

Mdchand - Some really interesting articles though a couple of weeks behind actual figures. The consensus looks positive for revenue though perhaps after Q2 which may be a side ways move in revenue. But I agree with Tewkesbury that the company should be very near to reaching an agreed sale. Just maybe Monday's trading will give us an indication?

More people have been at home listening and subscribing to podcast services during lockdown, and are likely to be return listeners once it's lifted.Could be £5 by the end of next week. Relax and enjoy.

Anecdotal evidence is sketchy re podcasting in a covid environment. As usual winners and losers dependent on where you look.

First link looks at changes in adveritising trends:

hxxps://medium.com/@magellanblog/first-look-how-is-coronavirus-changing-podcast-advertising-d8be8bd862b0

Second link looks at changes in podcasting content during Covid:

hxxps://www.podigee.com/en/blog/how-do-corona-and-covid-19-affect-podcasting/

Third link is a very detailed breakdown of podcasting trends (with caveats)

hxxps://chartable.com/blog/how-coronavirus-is-changing-podcast-listening?

Final link takes a different look at the above figures:

hxxps://digiday.com/media/no-commuting-no-problem-podcasting-ad-revenue-continues-to-grow/

Net effect - possible short term drop in earnings for Boom, but longer term uptrend remains intact. Possibly a very good time to buy Boom at a discounted price. Just depends if we get into a bidding war.

I think it's likely to be the opposite, growth sectors will be where the money is going. All the unspent advertising revenues for TV live sport, DOOH etc will be rushing into Radio, Podcasts, in game advertising (bidstack) and streaming YouTube, twitch etc If anything BOOMs advertising inventory is worth more now than precovid

The Covid outbreak must have reduced values, unfortunately, and we must accept that Boom is not immune. A 10-20% drop in pre pandemic value thus 100-120m value but in $. Hope I'm wrong and I hate being realistic!

I'm going with 100-120 million GBP sale price. So a very healthy return from here imo
