JTMG posts often reveal is naivety of running a business, this one is no different. Having the cash and loan facility is prudent in any environment, not least the one we are in now.

Not that it matters, as the sales process is clearly on track with plenty of interest. I'd imagine the words used are cautious so it's likely going very well.

Some companies will be struggling, while others will have a war chest for opportunities just like this.

Boom is a quick way for a large corp to double or triple their podcast audience and operations. Real value there.

yes, maybe not but the cash pile is dwindling a bit

tbf, with the current situation it's understandable they would have to use it, so maybe it doesn't complicate things

I guess they are not keen to utilise the loan facility it yet while talks remain ongoing, as the debt would complicate any purchase.

What is the problem with having cash and an unutilised loan facility. Even if the loan facility is drawn upon to secure future podcasting content what is the issue. Most companies have debt. Just grow up chimp and analysis the real dynamics of Audioboom. New partner with Amazon Music. Do you like that! The RNS has a enormous amount of detail.

Good RNS and plenty of sale interest as expected. Savvy buy all round would seem.

Just needs a few buys to take it back up. Listening figures must be off the scale with everyone staying at home.

Thx Poebardem. Unfortunately he's not literate. RPB has been honest and as accurate as possible in these uncertain times. We all thought end March would be the likely date for definitive news. Now it's going to be mid April. The RNS was one of the most clear I've seen in such takeover circumstances. Words are normally couched in more moderate terms. As you highlight in your excerpt from the RNS - the sale process is likely to be completed. Pretty clear to me

He's trying to say RRB isn't right, but is clutching at straws based on the timeline. Covid-19 has affected everything, it's not BOOM specific, yet there has been news by the "end of March", "by April" as RRB highlighted.

If he read the RNS yesterday (and specifically) he would see the Chariman's comment

"A number of interested parties are actively engaged in the process, but it is possible that Covid-19 could impact the planned timeline".

Would he say this in a public RNS if the process wasn't quite far along and there wasn't serious interest? Methinks not.
