Spotify podcast acquisitions passes 650m USD something's working..https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/spotify-to-pay-250m-for-the-ringer-bringing-its-total-podcast-acquisition-deals-to-650m-in-the-past-12-months/ Looking at the numbers the recent acquisition. The ringer claims to have 100m downloads per month. Comparatively that values audioboom at 150m USD with 60m MAU on their networkhttps://www.wsj.com/articles/spotify-in-early-talks-to-buy-sports-and-pop-culture-outlet-the-ringer-11579302564

2 points
1 - Candy cannot currently buy
2 - If Candy did buy more shares he would soon invoke an auto TO process. He has many opportunities to do this and hasn't. This is because he doesn't want to. Neither would I if I wanted a return in the near future.

Given that multiple parties are in discussion should mean that a decision is made soon. CV19 is hindering the process but should not impact the valuation significantly.

Speculation is natural. Common sense tells us that the current market cap is much lower than any purchase price.

Buy your shares and take your chances.

Thanks lukehold. It was difficult to buy stock today, so something is obviously happening.I now think the takeover price will be $200m to $300m but it could be even higher.

Wooty01 you are really naive if you think that all shareholders are treated the same. Buying company will try to spend as small amount of cash as possible. Mr Candy will make sure he makes his money this way or the other. Nobody will worry about people like you and me in the process. I’m not saying that it will be the case here but our investment bankers friends pulled much more complex stunts than this.

A record 135m individuals listening to at least one Audioboom podcast in June 2019. So while waiting on better figures if you say the average monthly user base is 100m and Spotify paid only $1 not $16 per active monthly user. It would value the user base at $100m USD. If anyone can find stats from the recent Spotify takeovers would be good to compare cost per active monthly user.

Lukehold I find your line of thought interesting. Not being lazy but could you make a stab at calculating the perceived value based on your second posting.

Sir Dom - if I understood your questions I'd have a real go at answering them. Get this will you. If there's a sale then ALL shareholders get the same terms. What planet do you live on?!

Interesting reading. LTV of a Spotify subscriber is c$30

Subscriber acquisition cost is c$16.2. So anything really below that a user has to be value for money.

Has anyone done any research on possible valuations here based on content and user base.

Im struggling to find the user base was for Parcast/Cutler Media LLC when Spotify took them out for $56 million or the numbers for Gimlet before the $230m takeover.

profit/revenue metrics means very little to these giants imo. They can easily monitise, so the valuation will be in the content and userbase

I wonder, do you think Mr Candy would accept shares instead of cash? Could potential buyer offer him shares and cash to small shareholders?

small burst of buying going into the w/e is not what you would normally see in late trading. guess we''ll find out on monday if it was a mere coincidence...but boom has traditionally been a bit leaky about stuff like this....

Also worthy of note is how many shares Candy has and how close to the TO threshold he is.

Wooty01 It would be very strange if I would be answering my own questions ? :) I've tried for a while and it was boring! It is great to exchange opinions with other people and listen to different points of view just in case you find yourself being so sure of yourself that you start to live in your own always positive and beautiful virtual reality. People are in title to their opinion, negative or positive about #BOOM and share their concerns here. Just so you know, I've invested in Audioboom well before Triton disaster and kept topping up since. I'm not a whining baby without any shares :)

This is an open market and not a closed shop except probably for all major shareholders who should be aware of the negotiation details and prohibited from trading. The market trades and minor shareholders buy and sell for many reasons. Even if there is a sale of the company in the offing.

Would you not be buying now in small batches if your name would be Mr Candy even for sake of maintaining the price ? Surely it makes your negotiation position weaker if you listed price is lower. Why allow this to happen..

Rainbow chasing ?
Many CV19 or natural resources have had sharp rises.
Hence some freeing up money to catch that wave I would guess.
As news could land any day here it is a risky approach, but we are all different
