Anyone saying BOOM was doomed from the start is spouting absolute nonsense. Is that the same for every other company in the world that took a massive hit over the past few weeks.Same old, same old on this thread spouting absolute nonsense and pretending they foreseen the current Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent pandemic and mass hysteria. Well done if you predicted all that, you are one of a kind, with unfathomable, unimaginable, knowledge, wisdom and expertise.People want to relish in the down turn in business, the worry and panic for families, jobs, businesses.Government measures today were strong and robust and exactly what was needed. If BOOM does go bust it will be down to very unfortunate circumstances with a heck of alot of other unfortunate businesses. Non of us should relish in it or take enjoyment in that. Unfortunately there are some that will. Its pitiful and sad in my opinion.I'm holding for now with hope of a recovery.

Poebardem : companies spend more on marketing during crisis, agree but only when they see recovery on the horizon. As I said before I admire your optimism and I would like to share it but this is not a 2 weeks blow over as someone tried to say previously. I was listening to Bloomberg today and do you know what word was used? “Depression221; not “recession “. I think financial markets are in serious trouble. In time of crisis people buy necessities, rarely influenced by advertising. So maybe difficult time to come. But I don’t agree that boom was destined to fail, whoever says that may have an agenda in saying it. I still hold on but considering reducing the number. And just to clarify- I still blame media for making a bigger thing out of corona as it really is.

Andy - Candy has enough cash to ride the storm. Discussion on going. Not a great situation but one of the few companies not directly impacted by CV. Marketing budgets will assist recoveries

podcast listens may go up due to increased isolation

but i don't think that is our main worry, with other company's struggling to stay afloat their advertising budget will be one of the first things to go. Boom will struggle to sell its ad space in the second half of the year.

it will also struggle greatly coordinate the launch of new content and acquire new shows as the whole world comes to a stand still for 2 months or more.

I hope sincerely i'm wrong but this company doesn't have much cash left in the bank, it seems like boom has always been destined to fail

Travel restrictions between UK and USA may have an impact on Sale Process? Meeting I'm sure we're due to take place in coming days in order to finalise the winning bid by end March. That's the plan. So can stuff be done by video conferencing ? But importantly the Q1 revenue will be on forecast as will Q2. Exceeding forecast is in the balance. I agree that podcasts will take a further surge in popularity given isolation.

If people are in isolation and/or worried about health they will be listening to podcasts

poebardem - I tend to agree with you. I think this may delay things but as you say Candy and Tobin won't let this go on the cheap having come this far so I remain optimistic. It's being dragged down with the rest of the market and as I said previously there is going to be some volatility ahead that said the fundamentals remain unchanged. Will monitor the price and may top up again.

Everything is dropping and rationale has gone out the window on most stocks. Too early to read anything into it.

VP has been going down since Feb. They are "developing life enhancing treatments for respiratory diseases" perhaps a company that would do well out of a rush to resolve a new respiratory outbreak! :)

People are selling out of everything in panic. More likely with Boom they don't know what's coming, don't believe it or are just selling to salvage what they can in their portfolios (along with other holdings). Or perhaps traders selling and planning to buy as low as they can. You can imagine the situation may slow the sale process, but neither Candy or Tobin will allow a distressed sell. We shouldn't underestimate the growth and the progress the company is making. It's still a great way for many companies to get into podcasting quickly or scale their podcasting activity. There are at least 10 companies that would be interested in Boom. Things will settle and conversations will carry on. The RNS said the process could run through to Q3 this is exactly why they would set a date that far out. Sh%t happens, but it will pass.

We may even take comfort in the fact that insiders aren't buying. Maybe they can't as it's too far into the process.
