19/2/2020 12:06 | From 10 February... Atalaya Riotinto Minera, operating company of the Riotinto copper mine, has obtained the OHSAS 18001: 2007 certification for its operations in the historic Huelva deposit. This certification confirms the company's good practices and its commitment to continuous improvement, recognizing the maturity and effectiveness of its Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Thus, after an intense process of implementation and audit, Bureau Veritas Certification, the first private certification entity in Spain under ENAC accreditation, has granted the certificate accrediting the correct implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of its management system, which promotes a safe environment for your employees and your production system. The OHSAS 18001 certification is an international and voluntary standard that recognizes the effort and dedication of the Watchtower team to offer effective responses to needs, reaffirming their responsibility and orientation towards business excellence. With this, Atalaya confirms that the protection of the health and safety of people is a priority in all its business areas, including the operations developed by this work center, dedicated to the extraction and concentration of ore, for its commercialization in the form of copper concentrate. Enrique Delgado, general director of Atalaya, has been very satisfied with the certification “a long-term project to congratulate us, especially our people of Prevention and Quality” indicating that it is a milestone that “does not distract us from the objective : that every day we return home in the same conditions that we get to work. ” Adding that “the fruits of implementation are already reflected in increasingly better data. But we don't let our guard down: Security is done between everyone, every day; it is a process of continuous improvement from which we will never give up, because it is strategic and consubstantial to our organization. ” | rougepierre

19/2/2020 10:34 | Not sure if these were posted... "You can't deny that Atalaya Mining has grown its earnings per share at a very impressive rate. That's attractive. Not only is that growth rate rather juicy, but the insider buying makes my mouth water. So on this analysis I believe Atalaya Mining is probably worth spending some time on. " hxxps://simplywall.s Just bought another 19,500 shares at under 175... That'll do for now... | rougepierre
19/2/2020 10:07 | Gold/silver multiple coming down...silver shares flying...minting it in GWMO, doubled since yesterday... If this is the big one for gold and with the JPM scam being taken down, silver should way outperform gold on the way back up...just compare the two charts...I'm in HOC at 158 and FRES at 625 but they've been left way behind... And so has GPM...32p against a NAV of 41p, which is only going to go higher... If only we could have clarity on the permitting here, I'd deffo be back in big time... Copper will have its day... 18/2/2020 15:19 | Interesting background Mr O. The environmentalists, for good or bad, do have some sway in these times, especially post the dam disaster in Brazil. I have no doubt AL is confident it the rafts, but they will have to take into account the 'concerns', even if means little change to current practice. The level of positive local support however is significantl as it employs so many. The question is will it add costs and does it delay the AUU and if so by how much. They also then need to identify (and notify) of the next potential Touro (but without the level of objections) as this seems to me the key to unlocking value through leveraging the experience and take them from a one mine company to a diversified miner. Until then, AUU assumed, it's driven by copper price. IMO | waterloo01
18/2/2020 15:18 | Yes,I remember hearing of him some time ago.Back in the mists of time.(I have been here a very long time!)I hope we will not pay his price! Also,I hope we have good security on site. ATB l33 | lanty33

17/2/2020 18:41 | MRH brings to the City Council the danger that "a wave of mud" from the mines will take part of the capital 11.35 a.m. Mesa de la Ría will pose tomorrow the risk that the Riotinto mining rafts pose to the capital: in its opinion, the flooding of sludge "would devastate the entire Port and neighborhoods such as Pescadería, Zafra and part of the central area of Huelva Mesa de la Ría will request at the next plenary session the City Council to require the Andalusian Board to take the necessary measures to guarantee an Environmental Impact assessment and a risk assessment in the city of Huelva and Rio Odiel about the possible breakage of the rafts sludge from the Minas de Riotinto. In this sense, the organization intends that the City Council urges municipal legal services to initiate legal procedures for the defense of the assets and lives of the inhabitants of the city . In fact, in case of breakage, the flooding of sludge would devastate the entire Port, the entire extension of the Marismas del Odiel biosphere reserve and neighborhoods such as Pescadería, Zafra, downtown area , parallel to the avenues of Italy and Germany, neighborhoods of Molino de la Vega, Christmas, Marismas del Odiel, Cardeñas and El Carmen, and along the Cristóbal Colón Avenue. The councilor of the Mesa de la Ría during his explanation. / H24 Thus, the councilor of Mesa de la Ría Francisco Romero points out that “ the City Council of Huelva has the duty to protect its citizens and to put the safety of those who live in the city against the interests of a company that, to obtain the maximum benefit, the old sludge rafts grow as they don't allow in other places. ” As an example, the environmental catastrophes of 2015 and 2019 in Brazil, whose rupture destroyed municipalities of the river basin and left 259 dead , has led that country to ban the construction of mining waste rafts identical to the one now being recreated in Riotinto to increase its capacity. Mesa de la Ría considers that from the Andalusian Board relevant reports are being hidden in the procedure, such as the consequences of the rupture of the rafts and excluding the municipalities of the basin affected, such as Huelva, from the authorization process environmental. | waterloo01

17/2/2020 16:44 | That takes care of him for a while... :o) Seville, Feb. 17 (EFE)- The Provincial Court of Seville has sentenced one year and three months in jail and a fine of 1,200 euros to former Minas de Riotinto director Carlos Estévez for appropriating more than 650,000 euros than the Cypriot company Emed Mining contributed to finance the Huelva industrial project between 2005 and 2007. The TSJA has been given 2 months from Jan 13th to resolve/reinstate the AAU, so we are over half way in now.. Copper recovering well after a close shave at USD2.50/Lb l33... 17/2/2020 16:21 | I suspect we have some environmental objections. Not sure the AUU will be plain sailing. Focus seems to be the danger of the rafts to the town of Huelva. No doubt will drag on. | waterloo01
