13/2/2020 17:04 | Yesterday Peel Hunt reaffirmed its buy rating, cutting target price from 310 to 305. I don’t have the note so don’t know the reasoning, but it should reassure those on LSE who were worried that after the loss of Touro, broker targets would tank. | rich1e
13/2/2020 16:07 | OK. Based on the latest WHO update, bought back 10,000 each, total 20,000 at 183.4. Fingers crossed... GLA | rougepierre
13/2/2020 11:25 | music : Cobas Garcia Parames. (Google Spanish Warren Buffet) . Thanks. Rich1e | mronions
12/2/2020 18:28 | MrOnions, if I’m reading it correctly, on Morningstar. Cobas Selección FI are increasing their holdings. Managed by Garcia Parames. (Google Spanish Warren Buffet) hxxps://www.cobasam. I stand to be corrected if I've got it wrong, Cheers MrO and VISH for referencing the Morningstar page. | rich1e
12/2/2020 12:18 | I assume proper buy interest a combination of Spanish institutions and some good work by the brokers with aggressive price target. Touro, I just don't see the excitement. It was never considered in the valuation of the brokers. it was just an option to be assessed at a later date. | mronions
12/2/2020 06:18 | That also ties in with the increased volume on the chart above, with Touro news coming on January 29th. | rich1e
12/2/2020 06:08 | Mr Onions who’s doing the buying, is it the Cobas fund? Looking at the chart at the top of the page, prior to the recent understandable volatility given Touro news, there was strength building from mid-December. This peaked with a little spike to 210p which held for a few days, despite a crash in the price of copper. | rich1e
11/2/2020 23:02 | @viz correct HF has just over 1m to sell . I am told not selling in market. Bloc trades only. I also used Morning Star | mronions
11/2/2020 16:49 | I think that any proper market direction change will be next year after the US elections, March or April. | rich1e
11/2/2020 15:05 | However...when it's really over we may see the bounce that ignites the long awaited copper price boom... It will all come down to timing... IMHO its still too soon... GLA | rougepierre
11/2/2020 15:04 | Official reports from the Shanghai Metals Market... "Copper inventories are likely to continue to trend higher, which will hamper upside potential in copper prices that have seen some correction from the plunge on panics stemming from the epidemic outbreak." hxxps://news.metal.c "The coronavirus epidemic is set to take a toll on copper demand, while the impact on copper supply remains to be seen. That leaves China's copper market to be oversupplied in the near term, weighing on copper prices. Production of copper cathode in China is estimated to slip to 701,300 mt in February, to produce a year-over-year decline of 2.54%. This will bring production in the first two months of 2020 to 1.43 million mt, down 1.96% year on year. China produced 725,900 mt of copper cathode last month, down 9.88% from December and 1.4% lower compared to a year earlier." hxxps://news.metal.c | rougepierre
11/2/2020 14:57 | Oh dear...it's freezing and snowing outside...otherwise the winter has been relatively mild, which supports the viability of viruses... Meanwhile you might want to read these links... "Estimates by the University of Hong Kong suggest the total number of cases could be far higher than official figures." (Extract from WHO Official position below) "China’s coronavirus outbreak poses a “very grave threat for the rest of the world,” the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday..." (Extract from article below and many other similar articles referring to "the tip of the iceberg" (outside China). hxxp://www.ekathimer hxxps://eu.usatoday. "Scientists at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, a public research center in Camden, put together a mathematical model in order to estimate the transmission of the virus in Wuhan. According to their analysis, the disease is likely to peak in mid-to-late-February hxxps://www.business hxxps://moneymaven.i | rougepierre
11/2/2020 14:00 | I'll provide a contrarian view on coronavirus. hxxps://www.worldome Scroll down to Daily Cases (worldwide) Coronavirus infections peaked on Feb 4th and are now falling quite sharply. Deaths will peak shortly. There will be disruption in supply chains for a while, as Chinese production picks up. But, it's too late in the cold/flu season for this to take hold in the rest of the world. I'm optimistic that China has done a good job at containing this. If I'm right commodities generally are a buy after their sharp sell offs. | keisersoze
11/2/2020 09:14 | So do I Waterloo, viz our huge holding in SOLG... but China now uses 50% of world copper, the US stock market is massively overvalued and coronavirus might just be the blue touch paper...many disturbing stories about under reporting and environmental spread...when the WHO talks about 'the tip of the iceberg' wed bettrt take notice... PS some interesting and insightful posts by Dave Robert's on LSE... GLA | rougepierre
10/2/2020 20:19 | Husbod, I suspect all boats rise and fall along with copper. ATYM does have some real positives though in being essentially debt free (Minus Astor), and some upside when they finally get the AUU sorted. Trouble is that is still a risk, until done. While they could survive a lower copper price, it all comes off the bottom line. Will AL stay around given Touro? Longer term, I remain a copper bull. | waterloo01
10/2/2020 19:12 | Maybe the silver lining here is that a lot of western companies will consider that their supply chain is better protected by operating out of their own countries instead of in a country with a repressive regime and a penchant for creating health epidemics. | husbod
10/2/2020 17:36 | Cheers, so that's Majedie selling. Under the buying tab Cobas have a green arrow to indicate buying. Is that how it works? | rich1e
10/2/2020 17:31 | Also out of copper stocks for now (keeping small holding here). China effect will be much bigger than the market currently has priced. | waterloo01
10/2/2020 17:17 | Richie. Look on Morningstar. under Ownership -sellers. They still have 1.1 million hxxps://www.mornings | vish65
10/2/2020 16:53 | Mr Onions where do we find the info on this 2M seller? | rich1e
10/2/2020 15:15 | World markets are in denial... Here is the real picture.... hxxps://www.wsj.com/ China is now the main artery of global manufacturing... | rougepierre
10/2/2020 13:57 | just paid 183.25 for stock We will make money / stay in business with copper as low as 2$ What probably hurts is we have this HF seller that still needs to lose 2m shares - they are distressed and probably need to sell whatever the situation | mronions
10/2/2020 08:53 | Sold off a big chunk of shares, including all our ATYM, CAML, ARS...I think this coronavirus epidemic has barely started. Big commodity sales in China and Shanghai selloff is only the start IMHO...sitting on 30% cash pro tem...keeping my SOLG...added in VILX... GLA | rougepierre
05/2/2020 11:11 | The VIX is dead sure you'll have the occasional spike but rarely a follow-up | ruvic |
