Interesting week coming up for us here, phase 01 US/China trade deal due to be signed off 15.01.2020, which should send Copper back to and over USD 3.00/Lb, potentially coinciding with our quarterly update / 2020 guidance too which was 15.01.2019 last year.. :o)

The Q4-2019 run rate setting us up for a 55-58,000 Tonne 2020..

Majedie , we have known for some time they have been selling. I believe the fund has been in trouble and has been reducing its mining exposure.

Think Majedie been the main source / supply of stock the Spanish institutions have been buying

2020 IMHO : Astor (Ash) concluded. If we are luck dividend!

I had not appreciated that the Phase 1 US/CHINA trade deal is still to be signed off on 15/1/20.

You make a good point as I thought the Phase 1 trade deal had already been signed off.

A VERY Happy and Healthy 2020 to all genuine ATYM holders.

Hopefully this year a number of well discussed and identified boxes will be finally ticked off.

Phase 1 US/China trade deal now set for sign off on Jan 15th, should get Copper back on its toes to 3.00/Lb.. :o), phase 2 work in progress..

All nicely timed as we are set up for a 55-58,000 Tonne year..

Some updated holdings on Morningstar today. Majedie appear to have sold a further c.1.22m during December. Now holding around 4.225m in total across two funds which
equates to 3.07%. Looks like won't be long before they have to issue a further RNS for dropping below the 3% threshold?
Bit frustrating with copper picking up recently that the Majedie selling appears to be dampening any significant share price rise!

I think 2020 looks promising for ATYM. Copper price is rising on the back of an expected us-China trade deal and the start of a possible structural copper deficit. Could get back to $3 per lb soon.Riotinto mine is expected to produce 55k tons (120m lbs) of copper in 2020, a c20% increase on 2019 (44k-45k estimated)Costs are expected to be squeezed down in 2020 - current all in sustaining cost Ytd is $2.12 per pound as at Q3 results with cash costs at $1.85 per lbEbitda in 2018 was €53m (c£46m) and I think we could see something similar this year with higher production volume and lower costs broadly offsetting lower copper prices. Let's see when we get year end results in April. In 2020, if Atalaya could make 120m lbs of copper as forecast, with avg 2020 copper prices at $3 per lb and AISC of around $2 then we would see Ebitda of c£90m assuming exchange rate of £1 = $1.30. That would be big progress year on year.In 2020 would also be good to see Latest resource upgrade (last one was July 2018) Revised AAU issued for RiotintoTouro permits issued Astor repayment deal struck Good luck to all holders - let's hope share price gets somewhere near all these broker estimates which are well north of £3!

Cheers - could be a while then before the overhang is cleared assuming they want to drop their holding even more or exit altogether. This time next year all the obstacles could be cleared and blue sky awaits but short term it looks to me as if there are better opportunities elsewhere. Hope I'm wrong of course but have for the moment followed Majedies example.

@husbod : Majedie had 9m shares mid Feb, 7m end Sept, 5.4m end Nov so guess they are the likely suspect to be still selling as not many other Fund Mgrs with > 1m shares.

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply to my post 13815.

Yes, Cobas Asset Management's increased stake does give ATYM a huge vote of confidence.

This is really good news.

#Scargs, at my last count, Cobas Asset Management SGIIC SA @30.09.2019
had 3.90M and 2.84%, so they have added around 3M going up to 6.95M and 5.07%, which accounts for the big volume days we had 10/11/13th December, and a big vote of confidence in the company going forward..

Todays 2*90K trades could be more of the same or additions by someone else, it is only when they trip over the percentage disclosure thresholds for a TR1 that we find out..

I did not realize that Cobas Asset Management was an existing Investment Institutional shareholder.

Do you know what % they had prior to them going over 5%?

It's very encouraging that Cobas have increased its holding and maybe adding to its holding as 2 x 90,000 share transactions have gone through today at the Mid Market price of £1.92.

So that is who was buying 10/11/13th Dec on the high volume days.. :o) an existing II confident enough to add millions as we scale up to 55-58,000 tonnes a year..
