News that the Chinese government will work with local authorities to speed up major infrastructure projects has boosted expectations for higher domestic copper demand, lending support to red metal prices.In the near term, copper prices are also well supported by an expected uptick in demand from consumers ahead of China's National Day holidays on October 1-7. In physicals, the premium for spot copper cathode rose above $100 per tonne in Shanghai for the first time in three years. Premiums have risen steadily since early August, indicative of stronger spot demand for the material.In addition, continuous falling of copper inventories triggered concerns towards a tight supply amid rising demand.

What I like about Touro is the grade, and the concentrate it will produce, 29% Copper compared to 22% from PRT, (+ 1/3rd).., the resulting AISC of USD1.85/lb is very low, and when Copper rebounds the margin here will be excellent.. :o)

30,000 Tonnes from Touro at just a 1.00/lb margin will add approx EUR 30M profits, but it could well be double that when Copper gets going in 20/21...

Good to hear they are making solid progress re Touro.



The company that promotes the reopening of the mine of Touro and O Pino, Cobre San Rafael continues to send complementary information to the project presented in August 2017. The firm, which integrates Atalaya Mining and the current owner of the land, Explotaciones Gallegas, It responds to all the allegations presented by individuals and proven entities, and adds in a statement that 1,163 allegations "were favorable to the implementation of the mining proposal." In parallel, the firm presented a battery of scientific and technical reports that respond to the issues exposed during the public information process. This procedure allows the administration to request additional documentation from the company. To prepare these reports, Cobre San Rafael collaborates with specific departments of the three Galician universities, as well as with Oviedo, the CSIC and independent consulting companies. The firm also has two offices open in Touro for all citizens who want to know the new project in depth.

Trickling up #Shortarm, and good to see.., I can see us tracking Copper along, but any larger adjustments might wait for the Astor result 1st..., we have accounted for the EUR53M, and I expect to have to pay it, the only bits we do not know is the time scale..., and or any penalties that might of might not come along with the judgement..?
