The Democratic Republic of Congo and Thailand and Bulgaria all have stopped using the Astrazeneca vaccine citing other countries having issues

What we are seeing now imo is that what was confined to a 1M batch of vaccines to 17 EU countries has spread to Asia and Africa, ie - that two new continents are getting involved is not good for anyone at the moment as world case numbers are once again starting to rise as the UK variant becomes the global dominant strain.

New variants are necessitating Astrazeneca and other manufacturers to currently change the vaccine to combat them more effectively

Long Covid --- the whale in the room --- up to 33% of covid-19 sufferers are now thought to be having this problem and around 30% of discharged patients are also dying up to 140 days after discharge from hospital BUT stats on Covid-19 deaths are up to 28 days after testing positive

Hundreds of thousands of people in the UK now are suffering Long Covid symptoms

Circa 50% will never work again based upon SARS data in a year after study

Imagine being AZN a commercial company who could have profiteered massively from Covid but decided to offer it FOC and getting all this endless nonsense even from supposed leaders - very depressing which is why I can't take life too seriously these days

Hi Phil, if concerned you might have a choice of the Pfizer vaccine locally.
If you opt for a vaccine at a pharamist it's very likely to be Astra Oxford,
in a hospital setting there's a better chance of being Pfizer.

Feeling less than 100% for a day or two is pretty much standard for most
vaccines, at least that's my experience over the years. Luck with your decision.

Added to my short term buy as posted on here yesterday. Secured 6918 bought on the weakness in the price due to those issues already posted on here over the last 24 hours re certain countries suspending the Astra Oxford vaccine. Rationale, this will prove to be a misnomer and starting to look oversold again on the RSI etc

Just been listening to the expert from the Swedish medicines authority. Sweden is continuing to use the AZ vaccine while the data is being reviewed. Said that 22 thromboembolic events had been reported in association with 3 million doses, which is no more than you would expect by chance. Sweden has seen two such events after the AZ, vaccine and 10 after Pfizer/Biontec.

She concluded that any causative association with vaccination is highly unlikely.

Thromboembolic risk is vastly higher after Covid infection.

Still keeping my target 6275p. Overpaying for Alexion, non profit covid vaccine, but now starting to get flack for it. Sentiment not good at the moment.

Phil, to be fair I get a mini version of that every year with the seasonal
flu jab.

Back in the day I had a pneumonia vaccine in one arm and the influenza jab
in the other on the same day, that took a 3/4 days to recover from.

Unfortunately atm every single article on AZN is vaccine related.

The fact that Astra is a rapidly growing oncology company and has just
made a big bet on rare diseases with the Alexion acquisition hardly gets a mention.

£66-68 looks a sweet spot for buying, if available again.

Barring something unforseen or a significant wider equity corrective phase.

More people are experiencing side-effects with the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine than the Pfizer drug, according to new data.

Around three in ten people who had the Oxford vaccine reported systemic after-effects including tiredness, headache or chills, compared to one in ten who received the other vaccine.

However experts said clinical trials had shown that patients are more likely to experience symptoms after the second dose of the Pfizer drug while the reverse is likely with the Oxford vaccine.

The World Health Organization said Friday there was no reason to stop using AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine after several European countries suspended the roll-out over blood clot fears.

"Yes, we should continue using the AstraZeneca vaccine," WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris told reporters, adding: "There is no indication to not use it".

Bulgaria became the latest European country to suspend the use of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine, following similar steps in Denmark, Iceland and Norway over safety concerns.

The EMA announced on Thursday that countries can keep using AstraZeneca's vaccine while it probes cases of blood clots that prompted suspension of particular batches of the vaccine or all jabs with it in several countries.

"The information available so far indicates that the number of thromboembolic events in vaccinated people is no higher than that seen in the general population," the EMA told AFP by email.

UK has been sensational?.

125,000 people have died in the UK.

Tens of thousands of others are left with what may be lifelong
conditions, some of those may never be able to lead normal lifes again.

You might want to take a look at the number of COVID-19 deaths in Germany
over the past 4 months.

This is not a game of patience, it's an emergency response to a global pandemic.

Some are switching to Pfizer.

Germany has been sensible regarding Astra, 65+ age group, min 6 months from infection till vac with astra.

Uk has been sensational, publishing the numbers jabbed a main priority.

This is a handy site, select weekly on z score.

Note Israel not doing so well. (i believe pfizer majority)?

Yup indeed, unfortunately the tone of coverage will cost lives. That's what is so disappointing about this.

Negative news gets pounced on by the media. In this case it creates hysteria around the AZN vaccine and will cost lives. I suspect the real reason a number of smaller European countries have suspended the vaccine is because they simply do not have sufficient stocks of it.

Thailand has delayed the rollout of the AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine over reports of blood clots, despite there being no evidence of this.

"Though the quality of AstraZeneca is good, some countries have asked for a delay," Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, an adviser for the country's Covid-19 vaccine committee, told reporters at a news conference.

"We will delay [as well]."

Massive support at 7000p, bulls pray it holds, I see straight to 6925p if it doesn't. Weakness I feel not so much vaccine, but the Alexion bid. Bears think they paid to much.
