The market is there inflict the maximum amount of pain, what is so wrong with deal that the share price tanks.

I can't see any reason short term for Astra to go up, I think will settle around 7000p.

Added a few at 75.78.

Realistically you need to expect increased volatility for a time

and there are also FX moves on any Brexit deal as a kicker.

Good. That will add to the experience from more widespread usage.

Large gap down if it drops below 75 by the looks of it... so I will hold in the hope of picking some up at 73..

Terms have been agreed and with cash being a fixed amount as you well know Monty. I think you are being mischievous and talking your book which we are all used to. Any offer involving a fixed amount of cash and shares is going to effectively alter the total amount paid at any fixed point in time as share prices change. The reality is Alexion shareholders are still going to receive the same amount of cash and shares as they were a couple of days ago, but their value has changed. If the shareholders don't like it then they can sell their Alexion shares in the market at a much greater amount than they were last Friday.

Yes more cash will be required for the bid, the lower Astra shareprice goes.

An abort transaction and a break feeDoesn't look like there are other bidders out there - so AZN shouldn't alter the price and if there is - then hopefully AZN will take the break fee

I really like AZN but the skew between yield and growth has been too disproportionate recently. I have a buy in price target which I will implement if/when we get there.spud

Just my thoughts, I sold my Astra, but I like the company long term. Hopefully buy back cheaper. I think Astra will have to pay more, shares will be diluted with this massive deal. On vaccine I can't see US approving until more data.
