Great for mankind well done Astra on vaccine. But shareprice wise this bid will drag on shares for sometime.

They are paying over the top, in my view, but Alexion shareholders want has most has possible, they got to vote on the deal, never accept the first bid, try to squeeze a bit more out of Astra surely, unless of course they are very happy with the offer now.

Monty, not sure you will see this below £70, Unless wider markets

take a tumble. The summer froath looks about out of the price to me.

No one else appears to be interested in Alexion so I think it will go ahead at the current price. If it doesn't, Alexion have to pay way over $1billion to AZ in compensation. We will have to wait and see.

I wonder if Astra will have to sweeten the deal, what they offering $175 in cash and shares. If I was a Alexion shareholder I would want $200 if part in Astra shares. Interesting few weeks ahead.

Delayed reaction, but welcome.

Needs to get above previous recent high at around 76, and then over 78 and into the gap, although that bit might not be today. The first bit (above 76) might.

Doctors on the front line of the UK’s vaccine programme have said they are “ready to go” and will be able to administer doses “very quickly” in the months ahead, amid questions over whether or not the NHS can inoculate 2 million people a week.

After suggestions that staffing constraints could hinder the roll-out of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, which was approved for use last week, NHS officials and GPs have insisted that the health service is primed to deliver doses as soon “as supply becomes available”.
