12/10/2018 12:32 | Bought some at 2005, as you say some support there (I hope!).Let's hope there is also a bounce across the pond. | discodave4
12/10/2018 12:13 | Hi fenners I think this is the paradox, fundamentally AHT has a sound business model, generates good profits and utilisation will benefit from the hurricane clear up as you say. Unfortunately the share price has been sucked into the vortex of a general sell off, but passed experience leads me to believe that it will recover in due course given time.... | ianwwwhite
12/10/2018 11:47 | Looking at the effects of the latest hurricane "the storm has passed" but there will be a huge clean up and reconstruction phase to come. Hurricane season not over. Once again AHT must be well placed to help. | fenners66
12/10/2018 10:25 | AHT is beginning to look more inviting, with some support it seems around 2000 with substantial volume of 6,808,807 reported yesterday, but closed -75 at 1979 following the DOWs fall. The DOW seemed to be trying to stabilize yesterday, and then came a further precipitous fall of 2.1% (-545) by the close. It's performance today may prove pivotal. From previous experience of market 'corrections' I am chary of 'false dawns'. On balance I am inclined to await evidence that the storm has passed before picking up a few more AHT shares at what seems a reasonable price, with some spare cash I have uncovered to max out this years ISA allowance :-) In the meantime, inaction seems to be the watchword of the day. bracke, what do you think? | ianwwwhite
11/10/2018 16:46 | It couldn't quite hold 2000 but judging by the volume I suspect buyers came in at 2000 | bracke
11/10/2018 15:50 | Good day uppompeii All fingers accounted for but I may venture a £ or two when it settles. | bracke
11/10/2018 15:30 | How many fingers have you left bracke? It can't be many now.... | uppompeii
11/10/2018 13:07 | Always risky catching a falling knife. Better to wait until it reaches the floor. 2000 supporting so far.....and an opening gap | bracke
10/10/2018 21:10 | Tin hats tomorrow. Dow down 800+ points. Now regretting my purchase on Tuesday which for a short time seemed inspired. | tarnlorn
10/10/2018 20:14 | Meant to add, thanks bracke. | discodave4
10/10/2018 19:12 | Well what a few days!, hard to imagine that last Monday the bid closed at an all time high £24.41.Happy to keep hold here and buy more for my ISA when it's settled (luckily with today's further drop I didn't do it yesterday).......alw | discodave4
10/10/2018 15:56 | Share price reminds me of a quote from Rescuer " remember shares can go down as well as plummet ! " | fenners66
10/10/2018 15:55 | Hi bracke, Yahoo's cookies policy. Some of the online newspapers have this correct - you can accept or reject and there is an option to reject all. It is a few clicks - which since I have no cookies on my browser I have to do it every time - fair enough. Some sites like this yahoo one think its ok to set up multiple click throughs to get to a list of every conceivable advertiser - so you can then go to their webpages and find an opt out (or not find it) or even get bounced back without it. That is deplorable and is clearly aimed at ensuring no one ever does it ! When I get to a site that is more interested in my data than reporting the "news" I treat them with the contempt they treat me ! | fenners66
10/10/2018 15:17 | Just getting hammered today - seems overdone. Any technical insights? | fz13
10/10/2018 12:54 | Good day fenners Was your problem with Yahoo or Simply Wall St? | bracke
09/10/2018 14:48 | Thanks bracke | 2flatpack
09/10/2018 14:09 | 2flat If the drop is over AHT should be ok for approx 2330. It's the US 10 Year Treasury Yield which is driving the market. DAILY 10 Year Yield | bracke
09/10/2018 13:43 | High 2flat,I'm waiting to buy some for my ISA (haven't got any of my AHT in there yet) but will see as this looks like it's waiting for direction from across the pond. All the best.DD | discodave4
09/10/2018 12:57 | RECESSION ! What recession? With S/P in a long term up trend ,I always buy at the 200 day. Can't see any reason not to. Happy to hold and add . . Morning bracke I see the current situation in the US not as a Black Swan Event, but a Don't panic Captain Mainwaring! opportunity. I do not have a fixed idea on how much pain I can stand but I suspect my AHT shares are a long term investment no matter which way they go. Famous last words. As always I live in hope Cheers | 2flatpack
09/10/2018 11:05 | Sold two weeks ago at 2370 as felt the company was not ready for high wages and/or recession in US. AHT is very high on price to book value at x4 with low-ish p/e at 11, suggesting all earnings are distributed to shareholders and, if hard times come, AHT may need to borrow heavily. With 10year climbing higher, future profits would suffer from borrowings. Sorry to say, but this is likely to drop much further despite good dividends, I'd speculate it'd reach 1800 and lower if pound recovers, but as I am out, I would not be studying reports further. | mtsblogs
09/10/2018 10:50 | Good day 2flat I wish you well with your purchase but something for you to ponder if you have not already done so. If the US were to continue the fall it is likely that AHT would go with it. If that were to occur have you decided at what share price you would sell your shares albeit at a loss. Yes you could continue to hold and wait for them to return to profit but that may be a long time. Selling is always a difficult decision but worth giving it some thought. Hopefully the Santa Rally will do the business and it will be tinsel all the way. | bracke |
