Good day ian

Once again the share price is sent back. Full marks for persistence. It's tried four times to break up but each time sellers move in and down it goes. Has this become a day trading share;it's been trading in a 100 point range for three months.

Good day fenners

I couldn't resist it.

I think your 'placing' theory is probably correct. Why would anyone buy them unless they had an immediate way of selling them for a profit.

It seems to me that oil and mineral exploration is a 'legitimate' way to lose money and a clever way for directors to make money. Failure to find oil, diamonds, etc is not illegal and it provides an opportunity to tap investors for more cash for 'an exciting new opportunity'.

I see you got over to the PET thread Bracke - for an early morning chuckle....

It amazes me how the "market" continues to fund PET and CLON etc.

However it seems that they issued an RNS with a "woolly" positive and then set up the "placing" well below the newly ramped up market price, after which there was a huge slug of trades and the market price drops back to the placing price.....

Couldn't be those placed shares were offloaded could it ?

That would indicate someone may have managed to make a profit....and there could be an explanation..... rinse and repeat.

Good morning bracke,

Thanks for the interesting link above.

"Such are the trials and tribulations of being an AHT shareholder" ... we suffer in silence, and just count the profits for solace! :-)

Good morning DD,

There seems to be a general malaise in the market this morning, around 90% of shares I watch (but not necessarily hold) are showing red. The dollar is up at £1.2965 at present though.

As you probably know October does have a certain reputation as a difficult month, to quote Schwartz "Bull market bashes end with October crashes" (no I didn't make it up!)

In these circumstances this is where we 'sloth investors' comes into our own, with our motto, 'do nothing, avoid criticism' :-)

Roll on November when the prospects are a lot more promising apparently.

Friday was an All Time Intraday High of 2461 and an All Time Closing High of 2437.

As ian's chart above illustrates the share price is heavily influenced by the £/$.

If you are a shareholder...... Brexit Deal - Bad. No Deal - Good.

Of course you are all patriotic to the core and would not think of putting your financial well being before the good of the country.....you wouldn't would you?

Promising start this morning.

I was attempting to post an AHT price to US dollar comparision chart for the last six months but unfortunately the technology has defeated me for the time being.

However, I think the chart does make interesting viewing, so I'll try again later. :-(

A good close. Close to its high of the day and 2440.

All in place for a thrust beyond 2440.......or not?

If it's glass it's toughened and very thick.

The Fed increased the rate but it has had little affect on the £/$.

The share price moved up well this morning but once again unable to maintain the rise.

One ponders what has to happen to move and keep the share price moving over 2440. Good results have failed to achieve it, perhaps a major fall in the £/$.

DD,

Can't argue with that, but at least we're heading in the right direction, although I was hoping for a bigger dip to buy a few more, before resuming our upwards trend :-)

Have a good weekend all!

I posted (55786) on 20/09/18 as the $/£ rate stood at $1.3264, having fallen from around $1.29 recently and at the same time AHT's price had also fallen.

I note today that the dollar has strengthened to $1.3075 and AHTs share price has risen accordingly.

Interesting times, where exchange rates trump company fundamentals in moving share valuations..

Nevertheless 2357 (+44p) at the close is most encouraging. :-)
