18/5/2017 16:00 | kilgallp 'elegant sufficiency' ==================== Hmmm....well put. Gourmet rather than glutton. You should be seeing three spikes to the fork not six. There will be much moaning if AHT does not deliver the goods but with Mr Trump as President who knows! | bracke
18/5/2017 15:30 | Hi Bracke, have just returned from a Thai lunch with an 'elegant sufficiency' of BYOB New Zealand Sauvignon, hic! I took a quick look at Andrew's pitchfork, but suspect it might be clearer if I take another look tomorrow! Thanks again for your input, always appreciated, and Good Luck with your purchase, I hope it flourishes. | kilgallp
18/5/2017 13:50 | Good day uppompeii I thought you would be posting. It did take some effort to remove the wallet from its location. The locks were rusted and I had difficulty remembering the combinations. My memories of holding AHT shares in the distant past are filled with negative thoughts. I consider that this time AHT 'owes me' and will be very upset if I am disappointed. | bracke
18/5/2017 13:49 | Did you get them for less than 1480 Bracke? | fenners66
18/5/2017 13:36 | How did it feel dusting off the wallet bracke? | uppompeii
18/5/2017 13:00 | Good day kilgallp I consider to-day's drop to the Daily SMA 200 significant. I have therefore bought some. I will now pause for a moment to allow readers to recover from the shock.......... I am not certain that the share price will not drop lower but will add to my position if it continues to fall and reaches what I consider to be an appropriate buying zone. I should add that in addition to the drop to the Daily SMA 200 it was immediately supported at the Lower Parallel (for explanation look up Andrew's Pitchfork). | bracke
18/5/2017 12:44 | Good day Bracke, thanks for your response to my query yesterday, an excellent call if I may say so! My thinking was merely, that I sold a tranche in March at £17.50, with a plan to buy them back at a lower price and I thought £15.50 looked cheap. I liked the story at the last results and expect the company to continue to progress. It's now a case of deciding when the price appears to have bottomed. Thanks again. | kilgallp
18/5/2017 12:05 | I would like to do more gapology , but she won't let me..... | fenners66
18/5/2017 10:29 | For those of us who are gapologists there is a gap from 21-22 November 2016 at 1420. Just saying that's all. | bracke
18/5/2017 10:14 | Good day ian I was about to jump off a ledge when I thought better of it after I had read the links you provided. It would have been at least a six inch drop from the patio doors to the paving!! Thanks for the links. Whilst I accept the general premise that normality eventually returns it may take some time it doesn't do so for all. Bearing in mind that the name of the game is 'profit' buying too early will mitigate against the objective. As you say "(you have to work this bit out for yourself!)" And now back to the SP That's another chunky drop to-day which is a lower low but guess where it stopped the Daily SMA 200!!! You couldn't make this up could you? Yes you could. I am now considering a purchase. (That should have you lot running for the hills shouting SELL! SELL! SELL!) If the Daily SMA 200 fails to support 1400 is a fair possibility. ALL HAIL TRUMP! | bracke

17/5/2017 18:40 | Hi bracke, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From previous experience when the market starts to slide the better quality shares will hold but if the slide continues the good go with the less good. That's when it gets nasty. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Steady on bracke, people will be jumping off window ledges if they read that..... My experience covering a number of market crashes since 1987 is that invariably the market makes up the lost ground within 6 months or so, if memory serves. I think we may well see further falls (yes experience/gut instinct), but trying to time the market entry/exit points is a mugs game in my own experience. My strategy as alway is if in doubt do nothing, but add to my holding when I think the fall has been overdone....(you have to work this bit out for yourself!) To any other readers, DYOR, if you follow my approach, you only have yourself to blame! | ianwwwhite
17/5/2017 18:05 | Good day ian It seems to me that anything can happen with Trump. He appears to think he can do whatever he wants. Whether he will 'mature' with experience is open to discussion; assuming he lasts long enough. From previous experience when the market starts to slide the better quality shares will hold but if the slide continues the good go with the less good. That's when it gets nasty. Looking at to-days price action leaves no doubt that sellers were in full control. What is perhaps surprising is that the such a fall was achieved with average volume. On the plus side you will notice that it did not drop below the last close low early in May, so no lower low.......yet. | bracke
17/5/2017 17:52 | Only a month to wait for the Q4 and full year results, due 13th June, should give us a real insight into actual performance! | ianwwwhite
17/5/2017 17:39 | Hi bracke ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IF Trump goes Pence takes over. Pence may continue with the infrastructure plans but drop some of the outlandish ones eg. The Wall. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I wouldn't expect the Trump issue to be settled anytime soon. There is a view that the Republicans might wait until after next year's midterm elections before throwing him under the bus. In the meantime we may be left with a largely ineffective President, unable to convert rhetoric into action without support in both houses. The question is, how much is AHT reliant upon the much vaunted Trump agenda.... not so much was the view expressed in the AHT AGM. However a much expected wider market correction may well impact prices overall. Once the froth has been blown off the share price, we should get a better idea of the real prospects for the company (IMHO). I'm still a long term holder, tin hat at the ready! | ianwwwhite
17/5/2017 16:11 | Good day Disco No I don't do lottery....charts are of little use. | bracke
17/5/2017 15:57 | DD - et tu. | broadwood
17/5/2017 15:56 | broadwood - All the best. bracke - Have you got the lottery numbers!DD | discodave4
17/5/2017 15:41 | I'm out after 7? years. My best ever performing stock. But I get the feeling that Trump's infra structure spend is unlikely now to happen. So when the story changes, that's my cue to jump. Best of luck to continuing holders. | broadwood
17/5/2017 15:02 | Good day kilgallp I didn't expect it to drop that fast. Sellers running the show so far to-day. The share price is at support but will it? It may want to test 1530. If that fails then the Daily SMA 200 at approx 1485 comes into play. The Daily SMA 50 is just above the Daily SMA 100. To buy or not to buy? If you buy at the current level you are thinking that the fall is over. Why would you think that? If you are a trader you might take the trade with an appropriate stop. If you are a buy and holder you may want to see a higher high. | bracke
17/5/2017 14:34 | Hi bracke, well you were right it went into the 1550's, your thoughts now? I was thinking of buying back the block of shares I sold in March. | kilgallp
17/5/2017 13:29 | IF Trump goes Pence takes over. Pence may continue with the infrastructure plans but drop some of the outlandish ones eg. The Wall. | bracke
17/5/2017 13:09 | Shares reflecting Trump's increasing difficulties today. Impeachment looms it would seem signalling an end to infrastructure spend plans. Nobody yet saying it will happen but market simply reflecting that it might. | broadwood
17/5/2017 10:07 | This has 1550 written all over it.........now come on AHT prove me wrong....as usual! | bracke
16/5/2017 17:53 | Once again high volume but sellers prevent it breaking above s/r, although it does close a little higher. | bracke |
