Decision time is nigh.

The share price has formed a symmetrical wedge aka coil aka contracting wedge (lower highs and higher lows). The apex is at 21 April. The share price would normally breakout before the apex is reached. It could pass through the apex but that would be very unusual. A reduction in volume indicates the calm before the storm.

Beware of false breakouts.

Ashtead due a re-rating, says JefferiesTool hire company Ashtead Group (AHT) is trading in line with US rival United Rentals despite better revenue and profit growth.Jefferies analyst Justin Jordan retained his 'buy' recommendation and target price of £13.85 explaining: 'Ashtead underperformed and trades in line with United Rentals, despite a consistent track record of better revenue and profit growth, delivering higher returns with lower leverage,' he said.'While expecting mixed United Rentals Q1 [results] on 20 April, for Ashtead with easing energy comparisons, improving US macro and potential buybacks, we see [a] 2016 re-rating.'Jordan added that while there have been concerns about a US recession 'Ashtead underperformance seems overdone'.DD

It seems not.

US Earnings reporting will start next week. Expectations are not high plus buybacks which have been high will cease. I think that the postponed drop to 790 and maybe 760 is back in the running.

I note from today's RNS Blackrot are lending 4.75M shares 0.94%.
Up from 3.5M shares 0.69% on the 08/03/16 so it looks like we are due another attack.
