07/1/2024 16:20 | Hi DD, Power ahead? (from close 5098 5/12/23) Hopefully not before the price drops to fill the gap at 4980, and has given me the opportunity to repurchase some shares I sold on 14th Dec at 5372 (see post 62370) 😏 . | perfido
07/1/2024 11:11 | Tipped in the Sunday Times - Ashtead is set to power ahead.Another gap up tomorrow perhaps? | disc0dave46
06/1/2024 15:12 | Good day disc0, mayers and fenners "Not a very good start to the New Year, 4 days trading and nearly 7% down :(" ==================== As Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said "Into each life some rain must fall" Gap at 4980 not yet filled. The share price gapped up from the close on 13 December and opened at 5276 on the 14 December. The share price has not dropped to 4980 since the gap up. But look on the bright side. A drop to fill the gap is likely to complete the cycle and may provide a buying opportunity. AHT DAILY "Why does bracke always have to be correct about the gaps further down being filled ? !!" ==================== It's the way of the market. I also mention gaps to the upside when appropriate. There are gaps at 5712, 5830, 6200 and 6328 but they are not yet within striking distance. Something for you to look forward to fenners. | bracke
06/1/2024 13:31 | Why does bracke always have to be correct about the gaps further down being filled ? !! | fenners66
05/1/2024 21:25 | Well, the fall does appear to have filled the downward gap.I imagine Bracke will advise. | mayers
05/1/2024 19:46 | Good evening Mr bNot a very good start to the New Year, 4 days trading and nearly 7% down :( | disc0dave46
05/1/2024 14:58 | Good day disc0 "Will the market shrug this off?" ==================== Those who were caught out by the good/bad news will want to move the market back up if only to reduce/eliminate their losses. Where the market then goes will be influenced by current events and Hybrid Hawk/Dove J Powell. | bracke
05/1/2024 13:38 | NFP 216k v 170kUnemployment no change at 3.7% v 3.8% forecast.Will the market shrug this off? | disc0dave46

04/1/2024 11:16 | I see Mr Powell has done his usual happy face then sad face routine again. Me thinks he's a believer in the praise sandwich strategy of feeding back to the market. | disc0dave46
03/1/2024 16:23 | Good afternoon Mr bSurely Mr P is accountable to no one!! lolRed Sea issues causing folks to panic yet again, have heard shipping costs have sky rocketed again - BMS could be a decent trade thinking about it?. | disc0dave46
03/1/2024 15:25 | Good day disc0 Viewing the current UK and Global situation I think Happy New Year is expecting too much. I will go with 'Hopefully An Improving 2024'. As to Mr Powell; who knows. Last time he did a 180 degree turn from what he had said two weeks earlier. Maybe it depends on what Mr Biden has told him to do? | bracke
03/1/2024 12:15 | Happy New Year AHT'ers, although so far it looks like being a risk off start to the year. Will Mr Powell be as dovish later today as he was last month?, somehow I think he'll be trying to subdue market expectations in terms of the likely number of cuts this year.....who knows, he may be just as dovish and off we go?. | disc0dave46
27/12/2023 13:00 | You too, Lairdavid. I am one of the etc and have been here since the Hatto days, but I sold most of my holdings far too early. I still have a small holding, but life is running out fast and I may have to cash in to enjoy the profits before it's too late. GLA for 2024 and may all your camels bear fruit. | palwing32
26/12/2023 19:18 | I see the yanks are going nuts again. URI seems like its closing in on $600 so soon after breaching $500 | fenners66

22/12/2023 14:26 | Good day disc0 Thanks for the link Mr Thompson is obviously not an admirer of BoE forecasts. We British tend to be a pessimistic bunch, probably due to the weather. As I type the US Market is moving up again but will be interesting to see if the rise holds to the close. In the meantime AHT opened with a gap today from 5440 which it has not filled.
