Good day Mr b"Mr Bailey didn't follow Mr Powell neither did the ECB."Did follow in terms of holding but yes Bailey was a Grinch, but that's why they say he has an ultra pessimistic view of the UK economy....and IMO the guy is wrong and will push the UK into a hard recession if he maintains his negative views for much longer. Can't even believe that three of the BoE policy makers want further interest rate rises! - unbelievable IMO.As to your question - would wait and see if SMA50 provided support or not.

Good day disc0

Mr Bailey didn't follow Mr Powell neither did the ECB. Has Mr Powell gone too early. Those of a cynical nature are suggesting that the Presidential Election next year has something to do with it...

AHT share price had a nibble at the 78.6% Fib this morning but it was a case of a nibble too far and has dropped back.

Will you be a buyer when the share price drops back to fill the gap at 4980?

A fair number of highly geared companies benefitting today from Mr P, including AHT, which is great. Just a pity I trimmed some, oh well.

Good day fenners

It rose to fill the gap at 5468. Next in line is at 5712 if it can move above possible resistance at 5506 which is the 78.6% Fib.

Yesterday Mr Powell was fully resplendent in his pure white Dove plumage. It appears the Hawk plumage has been sent to the cleaners prior to long term storage.

AHT - Soared through 5244 to fill the gap and nearly reached the gap at 5468. In doing so a gap from 4980 was created. The share price is currently supported at 5276 which is the 61.8% Fib.

What next? The first target has to be the gap at 5468. Before going for 5468 a period of consolidation may occur to confirm support at 5276.

The danger - There are numerous indicators flashing that the US Market is due a pullback.

c_k - Volume is delayed. Wait until the end of day to see what the volume is.

You may well be right, I would certainly look to buy some more if the price drops in due course.

imo, AHT has been undervalued for some time and now someone has realized that there is considerable value here. I think AHT is in play.It is already up over 8%.

Wow!

AHT has risen to a dizzy height this morning, and the dollar has fallen back recently, Powell has spoken, what's to make of it?

Being of a cautious disposition I have sold 10% of my modest residual holding to manage risk and avoid vertigo at 5372p

My previous sales were at 5156.7 (11/11/22) and 6484.3 (12/11/21)

No advice intended, and good luck to all other holders

No surprise that the FED have held rates, but more positively suggested multiple cuts to come in 2024 (pencilled in three) with further cuts in 2025 & 2026. This was implying no more rate hikes are likely.....the market seems to like what was said anyway.

URI reaching new all time high or thereabouts $512 and the UK market marks AHT down.

Perhaps it's time to relist in the USA ?

"Thanks, does this imply that there was a lot of 'traders' activity - i.e. is AHT now 'in play'?"
=====================================================================================

It could be lots of traders or just one or a few selling/buying in mid size quantities. I don't have the necessary market access to determine who was selling and who was buying. It suggests one or a few were selling and there were others willing to buy them.

Hi bracke,

Thanks, does this imply that there was a lot of 'traders' activity - i.e. is AHT now 'in play' or a target for day traders?

The volume of shares traded yesterday in relation to the price range suggests that the number sold equalled the number bought i.e. 2 million sold, 2 million bought.
