Good day disc0

"Do you not see SMA200 as providing support or don’t you give it much value?"
==============================================================================

Yes I do see the Daily SMA 200 and the lower (green) trend line as a good probability of support. Which is why I posted that if either fail to hold it's a strong warning.

Heads up. If the main perpetrator of fraud in this video is appointed to the board of Sunbelt, then sell.

Yes she is trying to row back on what she said but the idea that all currently uninsured deposits can be guaranteed is unrealistic. So a rock and a hard place come to mind.

Good afternoon Mr bThanks as ever for your views and pretty chart.I see Yellen has done a complete U turn on her comments yesterday, from an article today:"Investors were also digesting comments from US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen who said she was prepared to take further action to ensure that bank deposits stay safe amid banking system turmoil, a day after she said there would be no blanket guarantees."What a muppet

A few posts back I mentioned the resistance at the 38.2% FIB (5144) and support at 4724. The former was tested and continued to resist the latter is currently being tested.

I also highlighted the cluster of possible supports at:

1 The lower trend line of the main channel (Green).

2 Just under the lower trend line is the Daily SMA 200

3 The 61.8% FIB (4609).

4 Not support but if filled may 'satisfy' the fall. The gap at 4550.

The gap at 4866 now filled.

I suggest a break and close below 1 and 2 above should be considered a warning. If the share price does break and hold below them look for a retrace to test them. If it fails to break up above them be very wary.

She was being questioned in front of a Senate sub-committee and gave the reply in answer to a direct question. So I suppose she didn't have much choice.

Mr bNice, congratulations :)Curious - was Yellen asked about the insurance blanket or did she simply blurt it out?Noticed that Odey has piled 2% of his fund into UBS, long not short I think......he's no mug.

When there are events similar to yesterday I don't have trades open at the start but have ready trading platform, charts and link to what is being said by the main players.

I usually trade the S&P 500 on a 1 minute chart and wait until it moves to what I consider to be an oversold or overbought level. It had just reached what I considered to be an overbought level when Darling Janet made her statement. There was poor wretched Powell trying his best not to frighten the market and Janet put the boot in!.

You did not have to be a genius to know what the market would do. I couldn't believe my luck. Opportunities like that don't occur that often so they are very pleasant when they do.

What we now wait to see is how those who have deposits in banks over the insurance level react.

Good day Mr bYes I read that Yellen comment later......sorry Mr Powell, still think he's pigheaded, lol. What better way to test their economic model than to hold the rates to validate the model predictions....do something different ffs before it's too late!.Anyway, looks like BoE have been just as unimaginative and followed the leader.Good on you though for shorting and gaining some profit out of these shenanigans:)

Good day disc0

Superb volatility whilst Powell and Yellen were speaking.

From what I saw it was when Yellen said "blanket insurance of bank deposits was not being considered" the market dropped. It was a shorters dream statement.

They get 100% allowance now for plant and machinery purchase in excess of £1m, think the existing allowance is 18%.

Thanks yes I appreciate that but they have Sunbelt UK and suppose what's stopping them purchasing in the UK and shipping to US? (shipping costs not cheap I imagine but would it be cost effective?).

LOL Palwing

As for capital allowances , there were always initial capital allowances and annual capital allowances so I suspect the actual difference will be marginal and negative where customers buy instead (a bit like URI advertising yesterday the benefits of buying their used equipment ) but also that is UK which is a marginal part of AHT now.

Against that does AHT gain tax benefit from all the purchases - not sure if they already qualified as plant is more or less their "stock" rather than capital investment ... ?

I think you will find allowances are only applicable to purchases over here not over there.

Good day Mr b, 'Plus of course charts"....underselling yourself, they are "pretty" charts, lol.Just a thought, how will the new capital allowance provisions for plant and machinery investment (announced in the budget) impact their bottom line?.....beyond my pay grade, anybody?.
