02/7/2020 13:51 | Dixi, GGP have what BoJo would describe as a world beating gold discovery in Australia hence the m/cap. They also have unexplored tenements in the same area and Newcrest are in a JV with them to explore the potential. I expect the GGP share price to double from here this year bwtfdik? | uknighted
02/7/2020 13:38 | Pur is another none producer with a massive mkt cap. Just shows what can happen when you drop on the right piece of ground in the right jurisdiction. | soulsauce
02/7/2020 13:31 | Just browsing around - I was amazed to see GGP at £446m m/cap - no idea how that happened - but it does show the massive disparity in valuations between AIM companies. AAU just seems unable to ignite a fire with investors in the wider community. I have no objections to a spike here, so long as it settles higher each time (if only!!) :-) | dixi
02/7/2020 10:09 | I look forward to getting a much better understanding of the Cyprus opportunity and timescales to monetise. Sounds like another big latent asset ready to exploit. | plasybryn
02/7/2020 08:24 | Think it's more like $7m because they end up with 23,5%. | bigglesbingham
02/7/2020 07:53 | IMO Cyprus has the potential to be bigger for us than Turkey. Venus Minerals has assembled an extensive geo-scientific database across whole island and includes: Location and survey information for >5000 drill holes Thousands of multi-element assays Regional geological mapping over most of the island Detailed (1:5,000) geological mapping of most mining districts ASTER Digital Elevation Model and spectral data Landsat Thematic Mapper data Detailed Digital Terrain Model of the whole of Cyprus United Nations regional aeromagnetic data DIGHEM aeromagnetic and electromagnetic data This database, combined with our extensive experience in exploring the island, provides Venus with an excellent opportunity to discover the next major VMS copper–gold orebody on Cyprus. We have assembled an unparalleled proprietary database across the entire island, comprising thousands of drill holes, thousands of soil samples, detailed geological maps from regional to prospect scale, and a comprehensive range of geophysical datasets, all of which would cost in excess of €100m if replicated today. | renniks2016
02/7/2020 07:45 | Doesn't that five million also get matched by Proccea in 'doing stuff' value... That's how they earn in to their share.... | shortarm
02/7/2020 07:39 | Well aau get 5m usd for selling the first 17pct slug of shares in salinbas which puts a value of 30m usd for it or 25m for the remainder aau hold, aau then get diluted down as the other partners put more and more cash into it but the aau holding should remain as worth at least 25m usd, | catsick
02/7/2020 07:32 | Thanks, I was coming in around there not sure on the value of Salibas/Cyprus. Can come up with anywhere between 55-100million. Still undervalued at the lowest rung so I'll keep piling in when I can! | lottsgold
02/7/2020 03:09 | The transaction values aau at a minimum of 6.5p a share, just post the close they will own 30m usd cash , 23pct of the red rabbit jv worth 25m usd , 83pct of salinbas worth 25m usd plus other exploration assets outside the jv and the Cyprus assets, | catsick
01/7/2020 23:53 | I'm looking at it this way5,000000 profit a year Kiziltepe(currently, lots of upside there)Tavsan although 18 months away 9,000000 profit a yearSalinbas Must be worth 1000000 to us now as an asset as we are carried to EIACyprus ? Just look at Chesterfield creeping up. Plus 25,000000 in the bank (after a nice divi) I think this is majorly undervalued, excited to see where things go over the next 18months. It's maybe the quick growth period when the plan comes together. | lottsgold
01/7/2020 23:37 | Does anyone have any idea how to put a valuation on this now? I'm not experienced as a investor by far but this seems to now be impossible to value? Cash+ 23.5profits from current mine. Plus....for the other prospects and salinbas. Beyond my capabilities, has anyone tried? | lottsgold
01/7/2020 19:12 | I think we have got to wait for the Co. to issue the final details and achieve shareholder ratification before the share price truly reflects this transformational milestone. Don't forget they have got to get Ministerial approval as well although with Özaltin on board I expect that is a formality. End of August with the cash on our balance sheet and dates set for the hoped for special dividend and I think we will see a very different share price to that of today. Just my thoughts. | plasybryn
01/7/2020 18:19 | it's not clear to me that Nigel Somerville has any particularly compelling insights into either AAU or the gold market. 5p was my immediate target for AAU post confirmation of the deal, at least within the next month (and it fits nicely with the graph). I expected some weakness after that (following the next wave of Somerville top-slicers. then I expect the share price to develop over the coming months and years as the JV gets into gear over Salinbas and Tavsan, as AAU begins work on its Cypriot assets, and with the influence of further rises in the PoG. -------------------- of course, if we have a global outbreak of Modern Monetary Theory who knows what the future has in store. on that note I shall close, and continue to listen to the wonderful brass music of Gabrieli while opening and drinking some excellent Italian Amarone. | backmarker
01/7/2020 18:04 | there is no doubting that Özaltin will make an attractive and heavyweight partner, bringing clout and scale which will enable Salinbas to be developed more quickly; and with less financial strain and risk to AAU than it could manage on its own. the Özaltin video looked most impressive and, without demeaning Proccea, their big earth-moving capabilities look to be enormous, witness the dam, etc. clearly there is a price to be paid by AAU in giving up a hefty chunk of Salinbas. in particular the further earn-in payments by Özaltin seem quite modest when compared with any estimate of the future costs of developing Salinbas. that said, other than selling Salinbas off in toto, this would seem the quickest route to unlocking value from Salinbas. and there is much more value to be had from dore bars in the hand (after mining and processing costs) than the equivalent micrograins of gold in the ground. it should take AAU into the "big league" in Turkey, and thus make AAU an altogether safer play in that country. at the end of the day KS - and presumably Proccea come to that - are happy with the deal. that should tell us much of what we need to know. | backmarker
01/7/2020 17:51 | Also article on Shareprophets today from Nigel Somerville saying basically lots of gold price turbulence into and around 1800, so hold onto your hats. Ariana target now at least 5p. | rumpus1
01/7/2020 17:21 | Ariana has just signed up to talk at Mineprophets. Thonk well worth 2.99 or whatever it is. | rumpus1
01/7/2020 17:14 | Yes it's the delay with a conclusion scenario bigglesbingham and even was my guess so I will take that lol. | soulsauce
01/7/2020 17:09 | Does today's announcement get classed as a delay? If so my 10% up o. Your level prediction looks ok ha ha. | bigglesbingham
01/7/2020 15:51 | They have a hefty delivery month ahead and the shorts need to keep the lid on the price! | charles clore
01/7/2020 15:47 | Soul, it seems to be a daily bloody ritual. | rumpus1
01/7/2020 15:35 | Yanks battering PMs just for a change 😖 | soulsauce |
