08/6/2023 21:03 | Another missive from the "Texas Oracle" - courtesy of my cousin:- "A DAM NUISANCE THIS INFLATION. IT WON'T GO AWAY NOW" 8 June 2023 2pm ET. "Have you been thinking lately about inflation? How its slowing receeding in the Western world and how interest rates are near their probable peak? Well, think again. At least about inflation. We'll leave central bank fiddling for later. You see, inflation was slow receeding in the Western world, notably here in the USA but this week's destruction of a major dam in the Ukraine has cast a whole new light upon proceedings. The region that is totally under water is some 230 square miles, a very large area by any count but the crucial point here is that a vast amount of it is agricultural, providing food for the Ukraine and a lot for export. So, in one fell swoop we are back 15 months to the situation we were facing in February 2022 when the invasion first took place. Of course governments aren't yet up to speed with the disaster that was the dam destruction, but as sure as eggs is eggs it will add another violent upward twist to world inflation in the coming 6-9 months. Cast your mind back to the beginning of 2022 when inflation was rising but, at the time, fairly benign. Thanks to central bank dithering it was allowed to rise before the invasion when rates should have been put up earlier, but they weren't. Now, however, the scenario is the polar opposite. We have average world inflation of around 6% - central banks, mistakenly in my view, work on a target of just 2%. But rates are not far off the average inflation rate and the economic storm clouds are gathering. Production is falling and many countries are on the verge of recession. This neatly ties the hands of central banks who, in reality, are unable to raise their rates much further. Within 6-9 months we will have inflation stubbornly at or above what it is now, and rising, and central banks on the horns of a dilema whereby they will be forced to start cutting from the beginning of 2024 just as inflation takes off again. The spectre of stagflation is around the corner. Meanwhile central banks worldwide will continue to buy large amoujnts of gold, as they have been doing for the past 2-3 years. $3,000 anyone?" | ![]() professor pettigrew
08/6/2023 20:52 | Plasybryn, this way you get 2 goes at it. If they don’t answer fully at InvestorMeet you can go again at the AGM | ![]() xow98
08/6/2023 20:10 | It will be good to know what the excuse is this time as following the gold price is out of the window. | ![]() soulsauce
08/6/2023 20:09 | The share price has been cratering for a while bigglesbingham so I am not sure that argument stands up. AND would have cratered a whole lot more had it not been for you picking up another 1%. Maybe MdV wasn't relishing round 2 with Plasybryn 😉 | ![]() soulsauce
08/6/2023 19:58 | Plas - maybe the investor meet will serve to consolidate views of shareholders before the AGM and provide a better understanding of where we are. I think it will be very useful in this respect. | ![]() charles clore
08/6/2023 19:51 | Because the shareprice was hitting rock bottom and they are getting some difficult questions directed at them and they need to get the message out sooner than 26th June . I see it as a board and promoter who have listened to the discontent. You can't start skating for them being proactive . So yes I think your being over cynical pal . | ![]() bigglesbingham

08/6/2023 19:20 | Is there a reason to hold an Investor Meet Co event so close to the AGM? Is the reasoning to draw questions away from the AGM? Any views?Am i just being cynical? | ![]() plasybryn

08/6/2023 16:12 | what i like about AAU a lot is their robust structure if we sail into hard landing. it has enough cash for the corporate functions. it has cash to develope a mine - when most will have not. it is also geographycally spread. all i would like to have in a mix is a 100 per cent owned mine development project in Oz with a promise to go alone this time. or at least never give up majority of it. and for that / developing mine/ we need additional experienced people imho.... but any way very few so cash, talent and quality assets rich companies at this valuation around. BUT lol | ![]() kaos3
08/6/2023 15:46 | Zangdook - Which broker are you with? I am with Interactive Investor and on our voting options for Ariana they have 1 to 14 identical to those on your post 18221 including the duplication of auditors and renaming to Dignity Group Holdings. p79 of Ariana`s Annual Report and Accounts only mentions options 1 to 9. I have spoken with Interactive Investor and they have confired that the 14 options they have posted are identical to those received. I have contacted Ariana and they are looking in to it and will get back to me. Kim did confirm that she had not heard any mention of Dignity Group Holdings. | ![]() coachsailor
08/6/2023 15:35 | i can see KS is driven by geology. and geo techonlogy. he attracts like minded spirits. like a pianist. he plays it as it presents itself. where ever. he does not care much about digging it out, PR etc. which is completely reasonable. he is geo playfull and wit. i miss same wit playful spirit at some other corporate functions. can you imagine the resulting resonance. we can all feel it possible and hope it is coming. all is good as it is. just needs some additions. without them - we have a proven record of what to expect. | ![]() kaos3
08/6/2023 15:22 | Biggles - most of us long termers know what Kerim is capable of. He just doesn't think he has to keep on beating the drum. Trouble is, that is exactly what a CEO has to do. Everyone needs reminding once in a while as most PIs have short patience spans. Once he gets that, we will be away imho. | ![]() charles clore
08/6/2023 15:00 | The most compelling reason is their ability to find gold and a proven track record to get into production, the directors have skin in the game and I do like their diversity of projects at different stages and and different jurisdictions. They are very loyal to companies and individuals of companies some would argue too loyal ie Panmure Gordon. If tarsvan hadn't hit a set of tree huggers then I'm sure share price wouldn't be anywhere near it is now. I do believe a big purchase around corner or large stake purchase to act as flagship. As I've said on numerous occasions their promotion is stale and not impactful enough. Best interview I've seen KS give was once only one to TW of shareprophets , some poignant questions well answered but never repeated. We need to try other avenues to distribute the word. I'm chilled | ![]() bigglesbingham
08/6/2023 13:48 | Perhaps I shouldn't have posted them, sorry for any confusion, I'll edit the post when I have a chance | zangdook
08/6/2023 13:44 | I don't think it's genuine. It's not in the Annual Report | zangdook
08/6/2023 13:44 | Can you hold private company shares in an ISA ? | ![]() backmarker
08/6/2023 13:43 | Those are not Ariana resolutions. See the post from Paul280i to find the real ones in an actual RNS | ![]() shortarm
08/6/2023 13:41 | What's that resolution 13 all about? If it goes ahead won't that mean we are locked in and won't be able to sell our shares? Will that prompt selling by PIs to depress the share price and let the insiders scoop up cheap shares? | ![]() backmarker
08/6/2023 13:34 | That should have read "Biggles". My apologies. I'm sure that's what I wrote and the d*mned editor corrupted it. | ![]() backmarker
08/6/2023 13:32 | Boggles,Congrats on your 5+%What's the most impelling reason(s) for your continued investment in AAU, as these may be the ones we need the company (/yellow jersey) to push.Any chance of you getting on the board ? | ![]() backmarker
08/6/2023 13:32 | Edited These are not genuine AGM motions. OK, I've downloaded the Annual Report. The AGM agenda has 9 unremarkable motions. However, my broker sent me a link to vote via proxyvote.com which has 14 motions, including a duplicate "fix the auditors", so I assume it's a mistake by proxyvote and the peculiar motions that concerned me are from some other company. Here are the extras from the link I was sent. These are not genuine AGM motions. No.s 11, 13 and 14 bothered me a little: 10 TO AUTHORISE THE DIRECTORS TO FIX THE AUDITORS REMUNERATION 11 TO GRANT THE DIRECTORS AUTHORITY TO AUTHORISE CONFLICTS OF INTEREST 12 TO GRANT THE DIRECTORS AUTHORITY TO ALLOT SHARES 13 TO RE-REGISTER THE COMPANY AS A PRIVATE COMPANY LIMITED BY SHARES WITH THE NAME DIGNITY GROUP HOLDINGS LIMITED 14 TO ADOPT NEW ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION These are not genuine AGM motions. | zangdook
