11/7/2022 11:46 | Cinoib we sold a large chunk of that production. Unfortunately the market has decided to take the view that we have lost some production rather than sitting on a large slug of cash. Neither do they want to appear to place much value on up and coming projects, maybe because production from those projects is mirage like, it keeps moving further away. | soulsauce
11/7/2022 11:31 | -I take it Aau is still mining gold or what as the share price is below where it was before they actually found it. Was always under the impression when you were profit making your s.p.normally went up, not continued down. It's like a countdown to Thunderbird 6,5,4,3, next is 2. | cinoib
11/7/2022 11:06 | 8rad nailed it with that post. Bigglesbingham regarding giving up to Ozaltin. Realising an asset, well hopefully but up to now they are showing a total lack of capability. Took an age to start drilling, started drilling in the mountains in the depths of winter and must have drilled the smallest amount of metres in the longest time I have seen. Let's hope we see a step up in performance going forward. With regard to 'having to raise through Beafort or we may have gone bust' hmmm nice spin there. I would say it was more bad mgt of the finances and leaving it until the last minute to go cap in hand to a bunch of crooks, which they turned out to be, and suffer a deeply discounted placing. If it had been a one off it could have been forgiven. And in the face of investors on here, including yourself as I remember, pleading with them not to use that route. But this is where Kerim is an exceptional geologists but an average at best Ceo. | soulsauce
11/7/2022 11:04 | Konil - think this was several years ago when we were waiting a long long time for Kiziltepe licences to come through. | red imp
11/7/2022 10:59 | bb, a bit confused. are you saying ariana were on the verge of going completely bust? when was this and why? what did beaufort do? when did the fundraise happen, how much was it, and what was it for? | konil
11/7/2022 10:57 | There is a good question for the AGM | d1g3y
11/7/2022 10:07 | Spoke to MDV on subject and their input is invaluable. Take that as you will. | bigglesbingham
11/7/2022 10:06 | Having spoken to company many times they did ride roughshod over shareholders , Beaufort were the best at raising money quick and they had to or bust. That only came out well after the event but shows how close we were to losing all investment monies. Their view is without the fundraise there wouldn't be and Ariana and I know I'd be rather here now than not deal with Beaufort. Needs must | bigglesbingham
11/7/2022 10:00 | We agreed to retain 23.5% Plas we owned 100% but have said that if you own 100% of potential and no money or expertise to get it out of ground I'd settle for 23.5% of a realisable asset. | bigglesbingham
11/7/2022 00:11 | Plas - your LSE contact is right, it would be nice to know how Ozaltin is assisting with the development of Salinbas because since the deal was done they seem to have gone into hibernation! | charles clore
10/7/2022 19:52 | Yes Plas, i am planning to attend AGM | renniks2016
10/7/2022 16:18 | Well yes that as well Charles. In the absence of us being able to tempt institutions the only way to expand the shareholder base, beyond loyal shareholders topping up, is to get other PIs excited about the prospects here. | soulsauce
10/7/2022 16:09 | For me, Ariana has done a 'Boris'. It had everything going for it after the completion of the JV but since then, it has fobbed everyone off with a few drill results and airy promises. The result is that LTHs have seen an almost 50% fall in their holdings from the highs of 2020. Why have they done this ? We all have our theories but for me it is because Kerim is a brilliant geologist but not so brilliant CEO. | jaf1948
10/7/2022 16:02 | Ah, sorry Soul I thought you meant a target market in the sense of hoping to capture with the intention of expanding the shareholder base. Granted, the loyalty is there but the expansion doesn't seem to be. | charles clore
10/7/2022 15:45 | And you are happy with that which inevitably means you often have long periods of more sellers than buyers with the share price responding accordingly. Of course it has a target market, it's PIs and the sooner they realise that the better, in the absence of anyone else buying it. | soulsauce
10/7/2022 15:38 | Soul, I don't think AAU has a target market. They have a following of loyal supporters but they are making enough progress and profit without shareholder support. They dripfeed enough news to keep the lths happy but never enough to create a tsunami of buyers. | charles clore
10/7/2022 15:16 | Well if that is the conclusion Charles they are doing shareholders a great disservice. Every company needs to promote well, even the big ones. It is required more so here as the target market is cynical, fickle and has an awful lot of choice other than Ariana where in many cases they are afforded the tools and timelines to assist them in making a purchasing decision. | soulsauce
10/7/2022 15:05 | Plas - how about if Salinbas is sold by the partners and retain the nsr? Split equally AAU still holds 23.5% | charles clore
10/7/2022 15:02 | Soul - it's the only logical conclusion I can come to. | charles clore
10/7/2022 13:24 | 'The company neither wants or needs any promotion'. You paint a very dim view of the company Charles and what you think mgt think of shareholders if the only time they feel they need to promote this company is when/if they want to raise cash. Not that I think you are wrong by the way. But the company should have a duty to existing shareholders to do all they can to promote the company at all times and to keep the share price buoyant. The company have rode rough shod over shareholders many times in the past and thus it is times like this where they can make amends. Given they have failed to attract institutional investment and thus have to attract PIs then adequate promotion is even more necessary or you will have a perpetually underperforming share price as we have seen. Maybe if they had felt the need to promote this more throughout the life of the company we would be in a better place today. I am not sure many on here will support your opening line. | soulsauce
10/7/2022 13:04 | Personally don't think they will want to go below 23.5% | plasybryn
10/7/2022 13:00 | I have said this many times - the company neither wants or needs any promotion. It has all the cash it needs to continue exploring and dabbling at piecemeal production with Kiziltepe and soon Tavsan. The bod aims to keep long term holders happy by paying a nominal dividend. The only reason they would need to seriously promote the company would be if they wanted to raise a lot of cash for a very large project like Salinbas mining. They would then have to try and raise the share price to a realistic level in order to avoid dilution. The alternative to mining Salinbas would be to sell it and retain a small stake such as a net smelter royalty. This is what I think will happen. That is why they are proving the asset as far as they can. Then kaboom! We get a lovely special dividend. Happy shareholders all round. | charles clore
