19/8/2021 12:48 | Konil, some like me started investing at around 1p. I put a small percentage of my investments in AAU, over the years as the story got better I increased my holding and have a average price of 1.2p. The increase in share price has now made this share a too large percentage of my total investments so I am one of those considering a rebalancing of my investments wich would mean disposing of some of my holding. Getting a good regular dividend will make me reconsider though. | ![]() paul280i
19/8/2021 12:02 | Unfortunately the Q+A session didn't give much hope to those asking for a change in approach to company promotion. Our RNS are the best seemed to be the main response. | sonoftherock
19/8/2021 11:58 | Totally agree. With Gantt charts the problem would be exacerbated because if the board suggest a date investors treat that as cast in tablets of stone. An if it's missed then all hell breaks lose. They will have Gantt charts strategies deadlines but why share the nitty gritty dates with investors. They have laid out their strategy projects etc and to me it's clear as it should be to other investors. Anyway there isn't a Gantt chart and I think the above is the reason. Now communication and the broker it beggars believe at how little in the way of output Panmure Gordon have produced. Surely the board have to see that and the lack of broker communication and lack of institutional participation is not good enough. My dealings with them were less than satisfactory and the board knows this also. Kerim is fiercely loyal towards hodgson and I don't get it. | ![]() bigglesbingham
19/8/2021 10:57 | But for some, money’s too tight to mention. | ![]() uknighted
19/8/2021 10:50 | yes, i see, if already sitting on multibag returns from the 1p - 2p area then the temptation to take profits is too much as aau grind on to the next growth phase. i dont have that 'problem'. :-( simply red but i'll be holding on hoping that i won't be wasting all my tears and all my years. | ![]() konil
19/8/2021 10:21 | Unfortunately I do understand it konil as it grinds you down. A lot of people have been here a long long time and not getting any younger and the lack of promotion for the good story here is unforgivable. What Kerim should be asking is why are such long termers lowering their investment levels. It doesn't take a genius to realise why. Many of the answers have been on here. | ![]() soulsauce
19/8/2021 10:15 | soul, i'm with all the commentary here about promoting the company to get new blood in. what perplexes me is the amount of re-positioning (i.e. not selling to raise cash but to exit and invest elsewhere) that existing investors have been doing. the story here is strong, the undervaluation clear, at least to me, and a 7% near term return, yet peeps wanting out? when these leavers initially came in, surely they knew this was not a boom or bust type stock i.e. not pure exploration and project delivery takes time. yet departures in volume occuring. hopefully that will end soon. | ![]() konil
19/8/2021 10:00 | Yes I submitted one. Not sure what is with all the cartoons in the presentation. Maybe we could have a competition and come up with a relevant one about our broker. As regard to Gantt charts I am still well and truly on Plasybryns side. True, AAU can't be held accountable for the unexpected but they have been working in Turkey long enough now to build in an adequate amount of leeway. A broker note once in a blue moon and no Gantt chart, how are new investors supposed to get a handle on progress here? | ![]() soulsauce
19/8/2021 09:48 | I think they are issuing written Q & A as I know a number of questions were submitted | ![]() bigglesbingham
19/8/2021 09:19 | Did anyone make it to the AGM yesterday? Keen to understand if there were any questions / answers that were of note | ![]() d1g3y
19/8/2021 08:49 | corrientes - Thanks I'll take a look DIG3Y - agree, definite plus to the jv is a ramping up of the drilling programme that we are now seeing. Salinbas is the biggy... | 1candc
19/8/2021 08:22 | 1candc - Sorry I've not looked at this thread for a little while. I've left a token amount in AAU, but my main holding, by far, is in CORA, accumulated since the company floated and showing a very healthy profit to date. Although investing has always been a dangerous game, I feel that these days, there's far more uncertainty about lots of things, so caveat emptor very much applies. | ![]() corrientes
19/8/2021 08:15 | Yes we certainly can't question their competence in exploration. Roll-on Salinbas......... | ![]() 5huu
19/8/2021 08:12 | Another positive RNS. when it's all toted up the JORC numbers should take quite a jump. I would suggest the massively extended drilling program is the most visible positive of the extended JV. | ![]() d1g3y
19/8/2021 07:18 | Another positive drilling update to add to the kiziltepe minelife. The main positives here are the fact they are issuing rnss in a way which will hopefully gain momentum. In other words the share price is on their mind. The second is it cannot be disputed that they know how to find gold via the latest techniques as described in the presentation and exemplified by the fact they are one of if not the cheapest in terms of exploration cost per ounce. This has to be good for Salinbas . I seem to recollect on my site visit to kiziltepe that I heard the precious JV partner did not follow Kerims guidelines on where to drill , they used their own guys (May have been arrogance on behalf of larger partner who knows) but the next salinbas drilling will be guided by Ariana and that is exiting in that it's an established resource and potential huge as is hot maden only 15km away. ! | ![]() bigglesbingham
19/8/2021 06:53 | I think they do have clear aim and strategy and timelines. Point is most of the projects are influenced by external factors outside their control . To publish those timelines definitively for private investors to see would be a nightmare because PI take that as red then if they miss deadlines it promotes a lot of negativity as we saw with dividend which didn't have a timeline. Wouldnt want all that negativity surrounding projects which should be value accretive which end up being a negative due to missing self imposed deadlines which have been missed due to no fault of their own. Anyway we don't have a Gantt chart and I think the reason above is why. | ![]() bigglesbingham
18/8/2021 23:53 | Biggles - I agree with Plas and strongly believe that a good company should have clear, time bound aims and objectives. I am normally unimpressed when these are sidestepped or ignored. However, I have been invested here for a long time and believe that the bod's methods, although sometimes bloody frustrating, are most likely more aligned to those of the P.I. than the institutions. And I think we will soon see those institutions buying stock at full market price which will please me no end. | ![]() charles clore
18/8/2021 22:52 | I bought my holding years ago for 1p & have done nothing with it since ,until today when I doubled it .Dividend confirmed today is likely to be the first of many assuming all goes according to plan | ![]() base7
18/8/2021 22:40 | Yes pal we've always agreed to disagree ha ha called healthy debate | ![]() bigglesbingham
18/8/2021 21:45 | We disagree on this as we have discussed many times but yes slide 21 is a reasonable compromise. Not sure why the text says Tavsan in production in 2022 and chart shows 2023. But Ariana aren't keen on firm dates as now exemplified by the dividend going to be paid BY 26th September. And even that is a Sunday. You have to laugh. But presentation looks more strategic and businesslike which supports our maturing professionalism | ![]() plasybryn
18/8/2021 21:34 | With an chemical engineering background fully appreciate value of Gantt chart however when there are so many factors outside your control as with mining projects I feel it wouldn't be in best interests. As an example look at merger with Ozaltin to dividend payment. With best will in world we don't know what external factors played a part in the delays but what can be said for sure is there were external factors outside our control Covid to name one, however the discontentment caused by not meeting perceived deadlines (even though no deadlines were given) created bad sentiment which resulted in sales (wrong decision in my opinion). Now every project will have unforeseen delays can you imagine if each project had self imposed timeline which wasn't met . We'd have same problem every time and share price would go nowhere. Just logic and I don't see why investors in mining companies don't get it. | ![]() bigglesbingham
18/8/2021 21:08 | Happy to have slide 21 in its place as a happy medium | ![]() d1g3y
18/8/2021 21:06 | P.S. I was one of those in favour of a chart | ![]() d1g3y
