Renniks,

I hope you had a nice weekend away but your prophecies on friday ('Will open higher Monday, news Tuesday, then happy Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, July and Aug.') have not actually come to pass.

Perhaps you didn't drink enough gin.

DRH3 I think that is a decent idea. I am wondering if it would be best to do it in two installments of say August and December.

My simplistic way of looking at this stock is I look at market cap I discount amount in cash to nearest million and then ask myself do their assets meet the market cap minus cash. My view is a resounding yes and I think it will value out. Take CHF valued at £11m and they are not dissimilar apart fromThey DONT have a resource whereas Venus does. The special divi is going to coincide with news on salinbas so I think any dip will be quickly recouped by demand by existing investors reinvesting dividend as it could be meaningful value and new investors. Also as has been mentioned a rise leading into payment of dividend .

That being the case, I'd prefer the company reinvested the money into greater rewarding projects, leading to a higher share price I can always sell few if needs be.

You are not accounting for the increase in share price between when the divi is announced and ex dividend date

If a proportionate drop in share price really is expected on the divi payment (I will not be reinvesting mine personally), it's almost pointless calling this a special dividend to reward shareholders. It just becomes a zero-sum game surely? But is this not slightly different to regular dividend payments. Is the cash accounted for in the share price currently or not, does anybody have clue on that? Such a frustrating investment one!

Well there's your quarter of a million seller - I think this is why they're reluctant to lift the bid.....Clearly doesn't read this board or would have sold some at 5,075 the other day!

I still can't see why the company couldn't simply lay out the dividend policy and delivery plan, seeing as the high court has now approved the principle in law. Registration at companies House is automatic; it must happen so why keep shareholders waiting?.

Registration of court ruling needs to be completed at Companies House, who are behind at the moment and the process could take up to 14 days. i3 Energy submitted their documentation to Companies House on 29th June and expect their ex-div date to be 12th July, so probably another week to go.

Not necessarily. If a good percentage of people who get the divi use it to buy more shares, it could effectively produced the same effect as a share buyback, ie reducing liquidity in the market.

DRH3 - exactly - why pay divi - if there is no guidance of expected divis from our JV !!! to cover companies needs first.

and that has to be white and black written and signed for me to be tranquil - a model.

then I ll rest at peace. otherwise huge divi just a shot into owns foot

Although I would love a large divi, it would make more sense for the company to distribute it over a period of time to avoid a huge drop in share price following the cut of date and allow for their new activities to come on stream so to speak... just my thoughts..

I was wondering if it makes sense to issue the details of the special payout on its own? Would it be better to announce it as part of an updated strategy statement so investors can put a big payout into perspective. Some Co's returning large sums to shareholders are lost how to invest themselves or are winding down. As we are winding up we need to ensure investors don't get wrong footed by this. Just a thought.

i hope they dont drag out the divi thing now. they should be in a position to announce the pay amount i.e. after taxes, fees etc., exdate and paydate in one go. so only 1 rns needed.

though perhaps reasonable to separately annouce a dividend policy for further dividends.

c'mon aau get on with it now, hope no further jumping hoops to be sprung on shareholders.

Lol what a lark share trading is. Good strength last week, esp into the Friday close - excellent chance of news tomorrow - you'd think today would be a good day?

Buys - 38 shares
Sells - 1.3m
