Respectfully disagree on it being a red herring, it signals positive focus on shareholder value, something this company has failed to demonstrate thus far.

A lot of short termer's jumped aboard recently, they now realise that the company is probably about to swap half its assets for £30m and is structured so as to hinder any takeover of the rest(perhaps this does not apply to Oz). So, not so appealing as it was a few months back, and the near term future does not look so exiting. I am in for the longer term when I expect the true worth of the remaining assets to be clearer. All this talk of a 1p dividend helping the share price is a red herring, it will simply reduce the cash in bank making the company worth less.

Yes I'm wondering about the logic there.

Like I said earlier it is a great pity they released them both at the same time, the Venus RNS would have had greater impact if released tomorrow morning, it rather got lost in the fog.
But really all these sells??

I had to laugh at NS's article title this morning

Ariana – Ozaltin Deal Conditional Agreement Completed, cracking news - last chance to buy?

By Nigel Somerville, the Deputy Sheriff of AIM | Monday 7 December 2020

Last chance to buy he asks, try telling that to the disappearing hordes!

What are the chances of having two good RNSs and ending the day down ?

Valid points. I'm certainly not down on chf as I hold 300k shares there. I'm very positive on chf. I'm just pointing out that our exposure there isn't priced in and once it does it will add significant value. The reasons why the share price doesn't reflect the value in open to discussion and interpretation and I made my thoughts known on this board last week.

Has anyone on here been buying today? I have my position but don't feel driven to increase. I expect others are similar. If we want price increases we need buyers and not just from our little group on here. The company's communication with existing and prospective shareholders isn't the best in my opinion. Promoting the company, selling the story might be distasteful to some but it's necessary. Maybe things will improve once this JV is finally in place. I really hope so.

I don't know why anyone would be surprised at selling, not everyone is a LTH remember and we are in a world where there is so much short term potential for anyone that way inclined. Imagine being one of those people, you come across AAU and see transformational news expected any day and potential for a chunky divi, you stick some money in here only to get a holding message a week or two ago, followed by a proper update with no firm commitment re:expected timelines, and outstanding authority rubber stamping.By all means disagree with the approach or the sentiment, but dont be surprised at selling in a world where this may be another quarter to come to fruition, during which there are other options likely to realise the short term potential you had invested here expecting.

Biggles I am not sure why you are down on CHF's mkt cap given they have just had an investment of 22.5% by a FTSE 200 company. I am not sure why you need to think you should be comparing the two like that.
You could equally ask why the CHF mkt cap is only 15m compared to some of the aim garbage that are digging about in the dust and boosted by the twitterati.

We know the reason why AAU's mkt cap is not what it should be, due to years and years of what you and others called great and that is Kerim under promising and over delivering. All very well but it never fired the share price up and neither did it get where it needed to be ahead of placings.
The broker has rarely helped matters either so is it any wonder the mkt cap remains comparatively low.
People have long memories and it still remains a PI controlled stock as there is still very little institutional interest thanks to the great work of PG.

It's is very frustrating, I am hoping that one day these sellers will be saying if I had kept my AAU for a few years I would have been a millionaire. There's just no major interest at the moment for whatever reason.... PM price may be one, hopefully prices will start rising into the NY going by recent years it's a good time for PMs. I imagine people will pile in nearer the divi...certainly been a long wait though.

A great horde of sellers, is this lemming type behaviour or what? I am surprised the ask has held up, so far!!

At least NS is keeping the faith: -

We are not there yet, but we are mightily close and despite a bit of a sell-off in gold-producers, Ariana’s shares are up at 5.5p in the middle. I would suggest that if the opportunity to pick some up at 5.5p or less then it should be taken, for I still believe that once this is all through and the Tavsan project is given the go-ahead the shares will be heading for my next target price of 7.5p very fast indeed

There can be no doubt that there has been significant persistent selling for some time but one big seller would have meant a reduced holdings RNS as surely they have burned through more than enough to trigger a TR1 by now. At a guess I reckon over 50m shares have been sold this year alone. A little institutional interest would have been beneficial but amazingly, despite nothing but positive news for years, not one institution has seen the company as investible. I don't think the company has been promoted in the best way and the company needs to learn from this - unless, of course, it wants the share price to remain undervalued for some strange reason.

I spoke to the company last week regarding CHF and they are watching them with great interest. Reading between the lines they are extremely pleased with what's happening with chf as Ariana are ahead of the game with declared dramatically increased resource but nothing priced in. CHF market cap £15m go figure!!!

Yes today seems to be more little sellers after a quick buck. In my experience that's not the way to make real money but wtf do I know.

Looking good deal is going ahead, monster div will be paid and the Cyprus project firing up, interesting that they are copying chf and doing a bunch of cheap on percussion drilling to check if there is mineralization and then following up with diamond, I wonder if they are sharing info with chf as they are going about things in the same way and a win for one will boost the other ...

Are you sure they were sells? I could easily see them as a rollover. Another trade happening between the execution times (a coincidence?) helped reinforce the view they were sells. Smacks to me as if the MMs are trying to stimulate sells using the sell on the news mentality.
