Argee with you there, 1candc. I was referring specifically to those who bought in for the possible special dividend (see my comment 23032).

JAF1848 - I wouldn't count on there not being any fresh news announced in the interim, plenty going on elsewhere, in Cyprus for example. This won't stay in the doldrums for long, there is a history of unexpected RNS's popping up

Kerim has basically told us that nothing is going to happen in the next 6-7 weeks so who can blame anyone for taking money out of AAU during that timescale ?

"We've 4-bagged in 2-years. Okay, it's not 200-bagged (GGP...AAagghhh!), but it's not bad."

While that is true, depending on how long peeps have been holding it could also be seen as very selective interpretation of the chart ... LOL

Ive moved bits and bobs to other shares that i see as having more potential in the immediate future, i remain invested here though and have only reduced my holding by around 20%. Im hoping to make some money in the next couple of months with that and come back at similar levels here which feels a distinct possibility given even the announcement last week couldn't move it. If it rockets, i still retain 80% of my previous holding :)

Cssf - are you really saying the share price performance is disappointing by comparison to AAU peers and it's time to recognise this and move some funds into more profitable ventures? I have to admit to being a bit disappointed myself but I am not anywhere near ready to move out of this yet.

That 796k looks like a sell so buys/sells in balance, unless its a delayed trade in which case who knows.

If you do want to take a positive slant on the continued JV delay, it does mean that AAU are still at present, benefiting from 50% of the gold they dig out and sell, rather than 23.5% which will be the case if the JV is approved.

I think many investors may be put off by the lack of recent results. That is poor.

I think it is many sellers. I am a LTH and yet I doubled my holding when the news of the MoU came out, especially due to the thought of a special dividend. I am sure I was not the only one which is why the share price went up from the low 2s to over 4.

With the delays and now the statement last week that it will be almost another 2 months before a firm agreement, there is little chance of another imminent rise or imminent dividend hence many of the new investors have sold or are selling.

well one thing for sure there is a relentless seller behind the scenes - 3.86 to buy!

Our price often tends to track the overall movement in the gold price. I don't think it will be long before we hit $1800 per oz gold. With our results and preliminaries due soon, investors will have proof that our P/E is low. Coupled to an increasing gold price surely the pressure over the next month is to travel north.

Is there any chance of you sharing a chart for AAU with us rock wood? I like the sound of your prediction and your interesting view on the overall strength. Cheers
