Best ignore previous, I think I counted higher gold price twice, once in increase profit and again in sales.

Panmure Gordon have AAU 2019 profit up about 20% on 2018 (2.3-2.9).

During 2019 gold was roughly 20% higher on average than 2019 which implies profit on sales was up 30%.
Panmure also have 2019 sales up roughly 15%(3.8-4.4) on 2018, which should then make profit up 45% overall.

Yet Panmanure Gordon show the profit as up a mere 26%.

as I saw it - they just gave us a name. so f... what? it could be some other name - nothing has changed in attitude of how all is going.
a placate RNS imho... and as nothing has changed really - why would share price change?

as with the ladies - if they dont in 6 months ..... be very carefull

Another 0.1p to go and the gap is filled. I would imagine we will see a quick dip down and then a sharp reversal back towards 4.5p

Charles I think that is totally understandable and appropriate. Panmure Gordon aren't allowed to attribute value until it is ratified/confirmed. So whilst it might seem surprising, there is nothing to read into that.

Agree Tem, it's great to know things are going ahead but no value will be attributed until it is finalised and details announced. The announcement certainly made me more confident it will be happening in the not to distant which is what I needed to hear.

Interesting to note that PG attributes no value to the MOU confirmation. Perhaps that explains the complete lack of interest by investors!

That's a fair point Tem. Still this week's announcement clearly represents substantial progress towards completing the deal. I'm happy with that, even if the market isn't showing huge interest (yet).

For those who think this is a good deal for AAU, and who are wondering why after the RNS, hasn't the share price shot to 5p+ already, other than usual profit takers, the answer may have something to do with the wording.

''have formally committed to completing the definitive agreements necessary for our proposed transaction to proceed''.....isn't the same or convincing as 'have signed a binding agreement'

Also ''expected to be concluded by the end of August''......means it could drag on another couple of months or so.

My biggest losses have been not recognising when companies overstretch themselves. One was Interserve who tried to design and build a waste to heat plant in Glasgow and failed, the other Petrofac with a floating oil platform which went wrong.
That's one of the reasons I'm pleased Ariana are getting involved with a company used to managing large projects with Proccea also involved who have proved they can build and operate a gold mine.
