soul - I would think that with a project the size of Salinbas everything would be under constant review to pursue the quickest, cheapest and most profitable way forward.

Soul, why do you say Proccea not all over it. They have been mentioned as a potential partner in the past. I would think that they would be a good match for a JV partner as they have done a sterling job in the current JV and seem to get on well with our BOD. They have experience of building mines and operating them. If I could, I would vote for them but I assume there are others interested.
Mind you I would still like to see this sold and a big divi for shareholders. (I'm not so young that I can wait 10 years!)

JD I get where you are coming from.

Great that we are seeking an early JV partner which seems a bit of a change in direction. Strange that Proccea are not all over it.
Sounds to me like Hiz and Ardala are looking like the areas the company is most excited about.

I am not sure what to make of this comment:-
"Salinbas operational licence forestry application submission under review by the Company to enable future drilling"
What about the other 8000mts mcmather was talking about that we already have permission for?

Why under review? Why has the application not just been submitted? Is the review just while they source the best area to drill after recent results?

JD - a JV (in whatever form it takes) means Salinbas will move forward more quickly. It has to be a good thing imho

Well its news! The share price has risen, be interesting to see if it sustains. I don't want to comment on the content because its beyond me. Didn't understand if they mean a JV for the whole of Salinbas or just parts already drilled. Lets see what other news emerges about Q2, Tavsan etc

That drill hole is not that great unfortunately and from 161m.

It is good that they may be considering JV to advance this project as I see no hope of them going alone on such a large project. It will be years and years before any gold is seen I feel.

It looks like slow and steady as usual at AAU.

May well see some sell out on this news due to timescale/grade and economics at Salinbas.

Quite happy to just add as they build the company.

RNS looks good to me.

Lack of comment to this news plus the MM's seemingly prepared to cut the bid indicates that some may not be impressed by the news. Maybe they were expecting Eldorado and the discovery of a huge cache of Inca golden artifacts deep in the Turkish jungle.
I hope I'm wrong because this is good news and more than supports the company share price going forward.

Discussions being advanced with a number of other companies interested in developing the Salinbas Gold Project in partnership with Ariana.

"we are confident that there is an opportunity to develop a major new gold mine producing at a rate of 50,000 oz per annum over a mine life of about 10 years. The base case for this project demonstrated a NPV of US$108 million with an IRR of 28%"

All looking favourable, it will be interesting to see the terms of any partnership plus would any interested parties be tempted to make a bid for Salinbas?

malachitic - I made the word up !!! although it is in (strange) use.

I intended it as the adjectival form of malachite, which is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral, with the formula Cu2CO3(OH)2, and looks a bit like the coppery green bits in the photo.

I suspect one day the Oxford English Dictionary will include it as part of the lapidarian lexicon.

Re size, the plant in the top right is a Turkish Malakimoney tree, these typically grow to 10 miles high and 15 miles across. Should give you some idea of the extent of the mineralization.

I dunno why anyone would be grumpy,

From where I’m sitting, things are doing pretty well.

I like Kerim, I think he has been very honest and comes across as a decent and competent guy.

If you want to see how a mining company can be mismanaged, take a look at Tertiary minerals.

A bunch of total thieves, absolutely no other way to describe them.

I appreciate the grump Soul, and see why you feel that way. The reason given by the BOD was that if you give a definitive looking target then you create a stick to hit the company (and the board) with when the target is missed. Many of the targets, as someone mentioned earlier, depend on the governmental bodies issuing licences and permissions for various aspects of AAUs operations, so any targets can only be a guess because there is no speeding up of the rate at which the bureaucracy churns in Turkey. I guess that means that if targets were to be given again they would need to be ultra conservative which again investors would view as unacceptable - suppose they said Tavsan 2025 so they could be confident it could be achieved!
